Melancholy meet blues in a slow, sad rendition of Ry's song. Sweet soul comes out in rich blues tradition. Anyone who would say otherwise has never played the blues. People can feel blue but putting it out for the world to see, feel, hear, and understand in such a creative manner is something few people are capable of. I applaud you, sir. I play but nothing to compare to that. Play on and upload more.
Can I ask how you're getting the modulation sound? Leslie cabinet? Modern phase or chorus effects? Whatever you're doing, its wonderful. That 'come-and-go" effect is really the secret to the whole thing, the tune isn't that hard technically. Its working the modulation and then reverb at the end. Any pointers are greatly appreciated. Great job!
This is an awesome rendition- with feeling and melancholy, just like it's supposed to be. You've made me want a bottle of whiskey, and I don't even drink! - excellent job; be proud of yourself.
People play songs to honor, not to mimic artists and song writers. It is a fine song, and if played well, conjurs up images in your mind and soul of an America, not so long ago where we were racially divided, but brought together by common ground in music. I am sure Ry Cooder has no problem with people playing his songs as well as they can. That is an honor to him. Songs are to be shared. The fellow in this video plays the song very well and doesn't deserve to be flamed. Do better or BEAT IT...
WHY DOES EVERYBODY THINK THEY CAN play that song? it dont sound anywhere near as good as ry cooder plays it, y'all should just give up that song is only meant to be played by mr. ry cooder and nobodyelse thats why it sounds like shit when y'all try to play that song!!!
@beyotch1918 YOU are a pitiful undividual to judje others efforts that way. it was played with feelings and from the heart. Ry Cooder was the original---and the highest form of flattery is imitation of that person.
this song is so kick-ass, I remember when I first watched crossroads, and remember this was my favorite song, besides the ending of course!! RY fuk'n ROCKS!!
