  • Can you switch from the reserves to the regular force?

  • I was just on the website (and are my eyes decieving me, or is there NO recruiting office in Winnipeg?

  • If my English is a second language and have a poor vocab, would i have trouble understanding what they (instructors) r saying?

  • @Cybergeron89 You have to understand that they are saying to you or they will just scream it louder until you do.... this is experience talking here. Just go to your local recruiting office and talk with the recruiters they will be able to help make your choice of either joining now or latter when you feel that you are more fluent in English

  • To join the Canadian Forces, you must meet the following minimal conditions:

    -be a Canadian citizen;

    -be at least 17 years of age (16 for the Reserves and Military College) -with parental/guardian consent for minors;

    -have successfully completed Grade 10 (Sec III in Quebec);

-some entry programs have additional academic prerequisites.

If you have more questions about the recruiting process, please contact Canadian Forces Recruiting: forces.ca/en/page/contactus-73

  • im in grade 11 ( im 17 turning 18 in may ) and i wanna join the Canadian Forces , i was called retarded for wanting to join without finishing highschool? ... but i wanna join cause its been my dream since i as 4 years old and i need to change my life cause im lacking alot and i dont wanna work at some store or office i want to be doing something that not everyone can do or has done . and i wanna make my family proud. and so i would be thankful if someone gave me some tips ?

  • @NamoArts If I can suggest try to go reservist (for the environment that you want [Navy, Air force or Army] and finish your high school, once you are finish with your high school you can transfer to the Reg Force.

Believe me this can help you in your military Career as it can open more possibility for training and a better your chances of getting your first choice of career. Also by joining the reserve you may get up to a 180 days less to wait to be promoted to Corporal/Leading Seamen

  • can i still be accepted if i have minor colorblindness? i can see the colors but not like perfect eye sight. ill see red a bit lighter or orange a bit darker..

  • @unknownDJ1000 Just don't tell them that. If it's not that bad then they don't need to know, just keep it to yourself.

  • @unknownDJ1000

I believe they test you on this during the medical test. It may limit the trades that you can apply for. (I think I read somewhere for field artillery you need to distinguish the colors labeled on different artillery shells.) It all depends on what you apply for. I haven't been through the medical yet so I'm not entirely sure. Go talk to a recruiter. Good luck.

  • I have a question. Say i apply to join the reserves in sudbury, Ontario(2nd irish regiment) ,does that mean i would have to go to st jean for training?

  • @paintballlwars28 The reserves have training at various locations. Please contact your local recruiting office to find out which location is applicable for your desired regiment.

  • Has BMQ changed any since this was filmed? Or is it all the same?

  • Leaving to Basic April 9th!!! Cant wait!

  • Those basic up series scare the hell out of me. There is no way I can do basic training. I can't do that. I'm scared already.

  • @Ihateflagging123: If you want to join the Forces, you just have to keep telling yourself: "I want to do this, I can do this, I will do this" every day. Self-talk is a lot more powerful than you'd think.

  • who is MCpl Darrell J Priede?

  • @65016792 MCpl Priede was an image tech and a former member of the Army News Team at CFB Gagetown before deploying to Afghanistan early in 2007 as one of two image techs working in their Public Information Office. He wanted to show Canadians the hard work and accomplishments of their soldiers. Regrettably, after being in Afghanistan for a little over a month, he was killed along with five American soldiers and one British soldier in a helicopter crash.

  • Just wondering, how long ago was this season filmed? I've noticed that some kit are pretty old

  • @Oneshot112 Basic Up Reloaded was filmed in 2005 and 2006.

  • If you have a university degree (hmmm... let's say commerce) from a civilian school what limitations are there on what you can do as an officer in the military? I understand that medical and engineering graduates would typically serve in those capacities, but for someone with a less specialized degree what options would be available?

  • @MicrophoneAssassin13 Your local recruiting center should be able to answer your question.

To learn more, visit the website dedicated to Canadian Forces recruitment forces.ca, send an email to a recruiter at jobs@forces.ca or call 1-800 -856-8488 to call directly to a recruitment center.

  • @CanadianArmyNews If your application is accepted and they offer you a job I assume there is an alternative to swearing on the bible?? I have no problem swearing my allegiance to the Queen but the bible is another story so how does that work?

  • @ROTTIMAN31 you make a solemn affirmation, instead. It's basically the same thing as an oath, with all the references to God and Christianity removed. Legally, it has the same standing as an oath. It's what I plan to do if I get in.

  • PO is the champ. I hope im under him when i go to St.Jean.

  • lol @ 8:37 aaaaawkward

  • If i go airforce will i end up here first?

  • @gareth7blogs Yes, Basic Up Reloaded follows Basic Training where all the elements train together.

  • yay im from twillingate, NL too!..and im thinking aout going to the army too:)

  • Cadets is an awesome way to start getting ready for the military. They teach you drill, teamwork and much more. I joined when I was 13 and im still in it.

  • Hahaha I don't think I'll be joining the Canadian Forces after that...

"I'm petty officer kevin robinson, and this is BASIC UP: RELOADED!"

    hahahahahaha

  • Tim Horton's? LOL! It's alright, if it's not burnt.

  • LOL... PO Robinson is the scariest Navy guy I have ever seen.... LOL

  • what is on the medical exam i am nervous mine is coming up help

  • what do you have to do for the medical cause i am going for one this thursday? i need to know

  • good for him the 49 :)

  • @ShadowDeathBl1tz Kid, you need at least a university degree to become an officer in the CF.

  • this summer, cant wait, infantry

  • @WOWman1919 same im leaving july 26

  • @AASAMBO haha see you there bud

  • @WOWman1919 Me too. When do you start? I start Aug. 23 in St. Jean.

  • Im going to join the military as a infantry officer,im 14 right now and i got 2 years left to train =P

  • Dude seriously if you wanna be and officer be smart picking your courses in highschool because you need a degree. i think in certain cases you can be selected without a degree but you have to pass some test. i'm dealing with redoing some of my courses right now, just to be an officer.

  • All, you need is grade 10? Seriously?

  • @thisisnotreal900 and 15 credits

  • @thisisnotreal900 thats only to be a regular soldier if you want to be an officer or pilot you need a degree and probably helps to finish high scholl :P

  • realy bad music choice for a military video...

  • haha the good old days

  • i want to attend the RMC, and i am 16, i am wondering what are some things i should be doing to make me a better candidate to be chosen, i already play sports, i want to join the reserves, i get decent grades, im in the band, anything else?? maybe if your in RMC, or attended it, you could say what you did, and how you got noticed

  • Good grades are important.

  • @jungleprimitive Have an 85 Average. And lots of community involvement. Thats what my recruiter said. I am also 16

  • I don't no why everyone is asking Army News questions about pursuing a career in the CF, talk to your recruiter! I just went to the recruiting office and asked about RMC and got all the papers, send me a message and I'll tell you everything you need to no, but the best thing you could do is talk to a recruiter.

  • @jungleprimitive decent grades aint gonnna cut it

  • @jungleprimitive theres lots of options if you want to join officer RMC yes but if you want to go to a civilian school you can do all your school then join as DEOD i think is what its called or go to civilian as ROTP as well

  • I wouldn't admit to being in cadets for 7 years haha

  • @asr12388 Why not?

  • @asr12388 you just did... lol

  • @asr12388

ya cadets is awsome, i only joined when i was 17 (sadly enough) i wish i could've joined when i was able too

  • @asr12388 why ?? its good it gives u an edge

  • @asr12388

    Why not?

  • @GuitarQueero1 cause cadets are for young people or people who dont get accepted in the CF

  • @asr12388 why?

  • Is there a difference between basic training, and basic officer training?

  • @gfunkel200

    yes

  • is this going to be available for a podcast download on itunes soon like the first season?

  • Does the CF pay for your plane ticket and transportation to BMQ ?

  • @lmcaffer

    yes they do

  • @lmcaffer

Any traveling you do for the army is paid for by the army. But you will not be going on a first class or anything like that, you will be going on a military plane along with people from your area going for BMQ as well..

  • @facetha actully your wrong on one point, taxpayers cover the travel expenses wages, etc. encurred while at CFLRS

  • Wow, a 49 y.o. can join up in Canada? That guy's got some stones. I'm 43 and there's no way I could repeat what I did in USAF Basic Military Training years ago...these Canadian troops are good to go...

  • That 49 year old is my Uncle and yes he is a very strong willed man....when you are determined to do something you can do just about anything you put your mind to

  • I go for my Academic test, Medical and Interview Tomorrow, looking forward to it.

  • What do you need to take advantage of the subsidized education entry plans, and how does it work?

  • totally glad to see PO Robinson on here again, loved that guy in the last season.

  • I saw Robinson while i was at St. Jean, felt like seeing a celebrity! lol

  • @dethshank

    same haha

  • when was this filmed.. my husband is there right just wondering?

  • I read a post for one of the clips in this series that it was filme 2006-2007.

  • yyyaaaa basic up!!

  • Robinson is back yeah

  • is episode 3 here yet?

  • I was recruited in that exact recruiting office!!!! Newfoundland ftw.

  • Good Ole' PO Robinson. Hard ass for sure. lol

  • HAHA I think these were my instructors! If so everyone take notice of next episode and they should be..PO Steen, Sgt Lessard, Sgt Duchesneau, MCpl Vaters, Sgt Enault (maybe MCpl here), Sgt Jaworski and MCpl Fallis

  • haha yes the PO is back !

  • Oh, great. Been checking youtube everyday waiting for the new season, haha. Glad it's here, really makes me wish I was finished high school, so I could join the forces.

  • As long as you finished grade 10 you're good to join...

  • There is some other things you need but yea if you have grade 10, contact your nearest recruitment center and go from there.

  • What other things are that? Isn't all you need is your grade 10 and to pass their medical and physical?

I'v bin plannin on joining for bout a year then I realised like a dumbass "shit! I need my grade 10" (kinda a failure in school, I'm not stupid though I did english 10 in 3 days with a B so) than I actually had a recruiter suggest me to ATLEAST start on your grade 12 before you enlist (hey I'm listening to him right? they usually will lie to make kids join but this guys bein honest).

  • who is applying to RMC this year?

  • YES PO Robinson is back, hes such a hard ass

  • finally, the season is back
