hello! I loved this time lapse. And I am really really hoping that you have the other video you refer to for the birth of Anna Mae... I am not finding it posted. I am part of a group trying to open a hospital owned birthing center and I can imagine the contrast between the two videos... I am sure it speaks volumes about the difference in atmospheres and would love to see it to be able to share with those that are not familiar with a birthing center birth...
I worked on Mom Baby at Sacred Heart so your video caught my attention. I probably even took care of you guys when you were recovering.
I've had all 3 of my children, but still would have preferred the birthing center. My OB didn't deliver there. Being a mother, I could feel everything your wife was going through during that video. Way to go!!
Good editing too. How long in real time was it from checking in to the birth?
i kinda see the difference.. its probably easier to understand the difference if i could spot some sort of intervention (other than the drip) i appreciate that youve shared this.
I think a friend of mine kinda knows your wife, I remember her saying something about kids named Luke and Anna Mae, like Luke from Star Wars and Anna Mae like anime. I think she said your wife works at the copic's shop downtown or something, that's how she knows her..dunno haha I really like your kid's names, really clever hehe! :D
Yep. That's us. Copic is actually distributed by a company called Imagination International Inc. On Market Street in Eugene, Oregon. They actually have a youtube channel as well.

"The Birth of Anna Mae" is of my daughter. Even though it was only 1 block away from Luke's birth. His was in the hospital, she was born in a midwife center. You can really see the difference in methods.
It's funny she wanted to have both in the midwife center. Yet we just didn't have enough info at the time. You can see with the Birth of Luke at least a half dozen people coming in and going without even saying hi. So to answer the question my wife preferred the midwife center by far. That being said there are less people and less luxuries. The flip side is privacy, and personal attention. I suppose it depends on one's needs.
Ten hours, your poor wife. I am so thankful that I got to the hospital at 10am and delivered at 11.15am, much respect to your wife as I couldn't have coped for that long (although I would have had to).
Thanks but I should explain that she only had the really hard active labor for about an hour as well. The entire process from the moment she that he was on the way until delivery was a total of 12 hours.
Thanks. I figure this video is different that the thousands of birth videos because it focuses on the process rather than just birth. This is a time lapse of 10 hours into 3 minuets.
I bet that made us more comfortable in an odd sort of way. He acts kind of like you as well. Ya know biologists always wanting to study female species.
Lol I love the reason your partner gives at the end: "So that when you get angry at your mum...." Priceless. Congratulations! :)

They are doing well. Anna Mae is talking in 1,2 or 3 word sentences. Luke is either talking or he is asleep.
