  • They were a great working band. betty

  • Is the drummer on holiday? I cannot hear him. Though back then people didn't think to put the drums through the pa typically.

  • Keith = beautiful.

  • Keith has such charisma and personality

that captivates the audience.....Great song thanks for posting...

  • I've always thought Beck was the best Yardbirds gtrst & this clip does nothing to change my mind.

  • Agree 100% on both counts. Beck could be as fast as anyone, but he had the taste to craft great solos; the talent to give a song exactly what it needed; and the discipline not to overkill with thousand note per second solos.

  • great way to sum up Becks talent. i didnt see him w/the yardbirds..but i'll never forget seeing him on his first solo tour doing the album Truth...i was standing right under him as they played one of the tighest sets i ever heard in the sixties.

i believe with the Yarbirds, he was the first to use a "fuzzy noise" sound, that set the ground for many a guitar riffs. (my real channel is chuckloves1969, w/all the bands i saw)

  • crickey, this was my favorite song back then...i was in a jerky little band in detroit that covered it... great to see beck!

  • Its 01st May 1966 - the NME Poll winners concert from the Empire Pool Wembley.

This is the footage from Part 2 of the broadcast and its an excellent performance.

  • Pretty cool. It's funny to see that Jeff Beck has to cross behind Keith Relf to step on his pedal.

  • Great stuff. thanks

  • thanks for the post!

  • classic - thankyou!
