  • This was Rap before there was rap.

  • Being a "Ladies Man", when this song came out, I adopted it as one of my two theme songs. Street Life by the Jazz Crusaders was the other. I have written a book and it will be out shortly.

  • I heard this version on a jazz station in NYC back in the late 70's but it was a sunday afternoon and the dj didn't tell who did the song. Fortunately I had my reel to reel recording and I caught this but never knew who recorded it until now. Oscar Brown is a bad man.
