This three part documentary brought back some great memories. I made Oriskany's final two WESTPAC cruises and helped decommission her. Early in 1976, we began the laborious process of scraping, painting and sealing Oriskany up compartment by compartment. When I left her later that year, she was in near pristine condition for temporary storage. She was prepared for possible re-activation some time in the future. But history proved otherwise. Oriskany, I will never forget you.

I hope to be able to dive on carrier Independence once she is sunk somewhat like Oriskany. She was my home for 3 years in the arly 1970s.

Real trip back from time. Worked in CATTC as a radar approach controller from 72-75. Seems like a lifetime ago. Thanks for posting this video.
