fun fact> the splits are a result of training your muscles. Not sitting on your ass forcing them out of alignment. What a stupid marketing ploy. You don't need to spend money to get your splits.. just time and hard work.
the song is just outstanding, sorry but it makes me laugh for the next 10 minutes. I hope it will not come to my mind during mokuso in my Karate class, otherwise I'll start laughing and I'm sure my Sensei would not accept that... la la la la la ... :-D
i am a 3rd dan WTF(World Tae kwon do Federation) black belt and i want to know if this helps u in acrobatics because i want to be able to do the flash kick, a better kickout, and do a back flip
If you could get to the full splits with the machine, then that means you can get to the splits, regardless of your age, through hard training.
This "lay-z-boy" teaches you exactly that. To be lazy, and that results will come if you just sit there.
That goes exactly AGAINST the principles of ANY martial art. And it doesn't matter how old you are. You just need to get your ass up and start working. If you have to work harder, then work harder.
i will never use this machine again. a friend who was moving out gave this to me and i started using it. one morning, i woke up and couldn't straighten my knee. i could barely walk to go to work. 5 years later, it has basically healed, but is still weaker than my other knee.
Taekwondoist, nice. I am looking to get involved in Taekwondo, therefore I'm trying hard to increase my flexibility. Is the machine built strong enough to endure conistant use? Once you can reach 180 degrees on the stretcher, is it easy to go down into a side split easily or does more work need to be done? Thanks
the machine is built to last forever...real quality construction...getting into a sidesplit without the machine is slightly different...more work still needs to be done... i do another stretch by superfoot wallace where you touch your nose to the floor in combination with the machine
I would suggest the Flex180 is the best quality stretching device i've ever used. It's hydraulic and allows a smoother stretch and you can use it for strength exercises as well. The warranty is 3 years too btw. The military uses it too.
i had an old versaflex that wasn't too bad. the reason i like this better is the increments are finer grained and smooth...the versaflex felt knotchy & klunky & i once had it get stuck! the one i see on youtube is newer than mine and does have thing to help you stretch to side, etc. which is cool.
hey man! Nice side split. Does it hurt? like your story, I'm also trying get full side splits using tom kurz material. But, all I get is frustration. Im trying about 3 moths ago and nothing. Please, save my life, hehe, what do you advice for me?
if you're serious about it i'd recommend the hurley 3000. it has a crank system with a readout down to very small increments. 3x a week for 10 minutes stretch for 3-5 sets rest a minute and a half in between. each set should last about 1.5 minutes on which you crank it to max you can handle pause...crank some more...pause crank some more...all for one set...mark down your max each set...last pause hold for longest you can stand... next day try to go one notch more on each set...that's it!
I posted a respons a year ago and , I tried the Tom kurtz method and now I pull my hamstring every time I do a highkick , F*ck Tom kurtz I'm getting a machine like this
Any special foods, vitamins to help oldies (45+) age group to get back to flexibility. In high school I did gymnastics, but now even one day of moderate streching hurts for 2-3 days.
i swear by Solgar Omnium. I'm also a vegetarian. the hurt should not linger for that long no matter what age. shorten up the routine: 10minutes max - 3x a week and don't push it to hard out of the gate. concentrate on small daily gains. gradual increases over long periods of time built the Grand Canyon....Good luck!
Wow... Interesting. Maybe I need to take some time out of my busy schedule to do some stretching. I guess it could be of benefit if I have to sit for 9 1/2 hours at a desk at one time. Hmmm...
I an relate! I've been dancing since age 2, teaching ballet, jazz, tap and choreographing for over 30 years, muscles ripped off my bones at the ishium, but I still can stretch and at my age, the stretching is the best thing I can do for my chewed up muscles. You sure are flexible for a guy. Although, I believe anyone can achieve a large range of motion if they stretch everyday. Thanks!
dancing since age 2???? Holy Moly! You must be amazing!!! I sure wish I could dance. Maybe one day I'll take it up again. That injury sounds awful. Mine left me hobbled every few weeks. I've since managed to repair it with some running and no heavy lifting. (piriformis)
5 stars. hey, is there an age limit to new flexibility? just wondering, as I'm almost 37 and wondering if I can still improve my flexibility at this point or if it is more about maintaining what i can currently do.
yep girls are more flexible, and i can do that usually ehem when i get thrown of the horses, very annoying , if i dont get stressed nothing gets done here lol, but good for you to do it
wtf its a pic not a fucking video ,dude u should have but the pic on google images not youtube ,you tube

Thomas Kurz's method of flexibility training has worked for hundreds of athletes. If it didn't work for you, you were doing something wrong.
Congratulations on getting the splits, though. Good work.

I was surprised!
As for me, a body is hard.
It is absolutely very impossible.
I train it by running.
A body is a lump of the iron in my not being young.
