  • Nice work mate

  • wow this is an awesome video, very reminiscent of some experimental music videos I watched in a film class, but with a lot more coherence. Me like

  • bass tab anyone?????????

  • "Loud,Face and Snotty" Dig.

  • 1:49....the boats number?...666....AHHHHHH!!!!

  • 4 people got too scared and didn't like this

  • not to get you sublime fans all riled up but most of sublime's material borrows from rock history whether it's the 60s garage rock or 80s punk. hell, the drum beat in "get out" is simply just the begining of a minutemen song played over and over throughout the track.

  • Truman Hooker

  • horror punk before horror punk existed?

  • @PsychobillyCreeper Wow, you're fast .... lol

  • Love the little Richard death growl. Aaaaaahhhhhh!

  • great song great vid :)

  • One of the earliest existing records that resembles punk....... nice.

  • Excelente !

  • The Witch - The Sonics [Tacoma, Washington] - 1965 - "AMG pick. Would become a regional hit, receiving extensive airplay on the powerful Seattle AM station KJR, but the Sonics would never break nationally." - Here Are The Sonics (Norton)-1999.

  • Years before my time, but thanks to the older and wiser for the introduction! This garage band ROCKS!!!!!!

  • i still freaking looooove the sonics!!

  • I love saxophone in rock songs:)

  • theyre pretty common cords

  • In 78 everyone born in 45 will be 33&1/2.

    Vinyl Forever.

  • Lol Sonics drummer is beastly hes like a Thrash Metal Drummer in 1960's music

    1:00 Blast Beat FTW

  • Tacoma Wa. music RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @blacflag True, but the intro is almost note for note the same. Wonder if ol' Brad new of the Sonics?

  • @diehlam i'm with you, yeah, first few bars are a direct rip off of this, definately...

  • @diehlam Brad had notoriously good taste in music and the fact that us sublime fans have ended up here shows there some underlying logic linking the two. the true spirit of authentic punk perhaps? or maybe just one band ripping off another?

  • Sublime "Date Rape" much?

  • @diehlam now we know who influenced Sublime and unfortunately the idea was only recreation of the past ... But instead of comparing, let's listen. ahaaa!

  • is is a vjing sotware you use ??

  • @Aerodupont no, i have used ulead video studio for about five years, it has a lot of effects, but i don't usually use them

  • great video

  • Im distantly related to the lead singer, Gerrie Roslie, by an ex marriage mate.

  • lucky strikes rockin and rollin, thats what its all about....

  • I still remember seeing the Sonics at the Spanish Castle in 1965..... blew everyone away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • My friend worked at WTAY Robinson ILL. in the mid 60's came home some 45s this was one of them...loved it then and love it now...

  • esta rola esta bien malviajada pero es mejor con the horrors o con le difference

  • I just posted it on the Sonics Facebook page....

  • Because I run the MySpace and my friend runs the site, and neither of us is authorized to grant permission. Only one guy can do that....

It's no big deal, just wonderin'. It's a good video! Just don't get rich off of it - hahahaha!

  • @acoug - yeah, that's not goin' to happen, i've contacted loads of garage musicians via the net over the last few years, i generally find them cool...i've been a bit lax here lately, but i've put a lot more effort into videos and bigging them all up generally than i ever get out of it...bit of satisfaction, that's about it.

  • Who gave permission exactly?

  • @acoug - i'd have to dig out the name, it was someone who runs sites on their behalf, why do you ask?

  • Holy shit! I think I found my favorite Sonics song....

  • just figured out how to play this riff by ear, its awesome!

  • what a cool holloween song this would make with the wicked witch of the west as the main star!

  • Dance, Witch, Daaance!!!

  • skateboarding to this song soooooo fucking sweet

  • @yoman1212 How old are you ? You sound 14 or something .... lol

  • so this is the original? cuz i heard one with Landels and i thought it was from them

  • I bought this record when I lived in Seattle, still have it!!

  • The song makes me want to go crazy and I'm kinda old.

  • favourites count was reset to zero the other week....

  • かっこいい!

  • always thought the original was by thr Fuzztones..

  • lol i love that crazy 60s dancing. like the beach party movies lol

  • yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • That un mistakable, NW Sound, so damn great.

  • It was in Lowcard - Mallgrab before Hesh Law. And it works better in that vid too.

  • Sick Hesh Law Part

  • @peelsk8 hell yeah!!

  • creature Hesh Law :D

  • Rock the way it was meant to be played; Simple, loud, with attitude and all in under 3 minutes.

  • You got it, brother!

  • hellyeah

  • @mrbag60 arguably The Sonics are credited with being the first Punk band

  • @mrbag60 You don't like Prog rock I assume.

  • @ThatDisembodiedVoice i prefer 60's garage rock to most prog rock but do like early-70's ELP, Yes, King Crimson and Pink Floyd as well.

  • the horrors have fucking ripped this song off with their track "count in fives"!

  • FANTASTIC !!!

  • 1964. A great Northwest band

  • They never made the Billboard top 100, but The Sonics are a part of rock history.

  • No doubt there :D

  • nothing much changed really

    *FRUG THE FROG*

mainly nowadays its postnormal and abnormal now&then

    "copYcat(Z)saX"

  • I KNEW that riff was way too cool for crappy-hacks Sublime (Date Rape)

  • I almost broke my neck doing the Frug (that was a dance back then, kids_-_) at my..?? 11th year birthday party... still consider this vocal unquestionably the best raw screaming ever.. after 35 years in the music business... thank you for posting!! my oringinal is loooong gone.. too bad... wish I still had that huge stack of 45s....

  • Great video!!!

  • 1966?

  • Ah! The T.L. Sound! Fantastic! Great video too!

  • Sounds like 60s garage psych.Very cool.Love the visuals!

  • it is 60s garage psych!

  • The Sonics, lo mas grande junto a Los saicos, viva el garage de los 60s

  • "The touchables" you say? Very nice clip! Good job!

  • these guys were like the original garage rockers

  • Actually Mad Mike and the maniacs were

  • And yes I have the orignal 45 on etiquette too....I bought the record back when it was released when I lived outside of Seattle....a very long time ago!!!!! LOL

  • And yes, I have this on the original red "etiquette" label, with "I hear you Knocking" on the b-side....Peace

  • I concur and enjoyed reading most all of the comments posted here by my fellow pacific northwesterners. We lived in a musically blessed region, and Pat O'day was THE MAN! I still have my Kingsmen and Wailers autographed albums an 45's-someone can pry them from my cold dead hand someday. Maybe.

  • Me likey!

  • Want some more Pacific Northwest Rock from back then that's truly GREAT?? Type in "Out of Our Tree" by the Wailers (NOT Bob Marley!) and give it a LISTEN!! Another Pacific Northwest band that didn't get the airtime it deserved.

  • the best song by the best rock and roll band from the northwest....

  • Curt: So were the Wailers, Viceroys, Beachcombers, Kingsmen and Paul Revere and the Raiders!! I was there then.... KJR Seatte, Channel 95!

  • I do agree - there were a bunch of good bands from the NW - Even here in Oregon, I used to listen to KJR at night, one name that comes to my mind is Pat ODay... one of my treasures from the 60s is an album, something like KJR Presents - was a collection of songs that I happened to really like - thanks for bringing back so many cool memories

  • I also listened to the Portland Stations too. I was north of you on the coast in Aberdeen. I have a Viceroys album with a full side acknowledgement by Pat O'Day. Remember the Viceroys song "Granny's Pad"?? Portland also had a band called Don and the Goodtimes Remember them? One of their members finally got to join Paul Revere and the Raiders...(another GREAT Pacific NorthWest Rock Band!!)

  • I've lived in western Oregon since I was 10, now 56, a few miles south of Eugene. Not only was KJR a station I remember hearing, but also KOL - I was very interested in AM radio as a teen, I would send reception reports to stations and get a QSL card in return verifying reception, I have some of them still, and found the one from KOL earlier today.

I do remember Don and the Goodtimes, I always really liked their song Little Sally Tease, my sister was crazy about Raiders and Mark Lindsay

Yeahhhhhhhhhhh! Kick Ass.

  • A k llamas basura? si llamas basura a LOS BEATLES, LOS STONES, KINKS, THE WHO , y demás grupos es k eres un pokito bobo pero este grupo era un GRAN GRUPO

  • great video awesome tune , dude !!!

  • muy buenas imagenes...buen video...PuRa pSiCoDeLiAªªª!!!....

    BUENOS TIEMPOS....

  • Sweet Video, Does anyone know who did a cover of this song with a chick singing?

  • The Rattles did another song called "The Witch" in like 1970. Rocks in a different vibe.

  • I Found who I was looking for "Lucky Me" from their 1990 album Glue

  • AWESOME!!!!

  • The correct title of this track is "Witch" not THE Witch!!!!

  • thanks, but you'll find the original 45 is titled 'the witch'.

  • you go boy....set that know it all prick straight

  • blacflag, what the hell is this footage from?! Great work as usual.

  • i've messed about with it and altered colours and that but it's a clip from a relatively obscure but excellent late sixties british film called the touchables......i dont think it's had an official dvd issue, someone copied a video for me ages ago.....could do with a proper release.

  • this is the shit ! unbelievably groovin! Sonics!!!!

  • ridiculously good!

  • Now, you know the score 'cause i set you straight Well, you better be careful Before it's too late She gonna make you itch 'cause she's the witch Solo Well, she walks around late at night Among startled people sleepin' tight If you hear her knocking on your door You better sneakin´away
