  • I clicked on this just because the title was relevant and I'm listening to a bunch of music like this again.

@MyMerryMelodies isn't this classical music? I mean, it's by Kronos Quartet. I think this counts as modern classical music...

  • nice sound to die and film for sorrow.

  • really 2 people dislike this. Some people are deaf.

  • @MawnstrXnXurXClawset They died.

  • may they rest in peace

  • This piece by Rezső Seress is at its best when played on violin. Truly an outstanding performance.

Szomorú vasárnap száz fehér virággal ... sir a hegedű és sirok én is.

  • @hunorita Have you heard it when Emilie Autumn does it?

  • Exquisite. And it keeps the flavor of the Hungarian original. Probably my favorite version.

  • today is sunday and its gloomy here

  • I've never found this song to be profoundly sad. This is probably the saddest version I've heard, but I still think it's too much hype. Probably just a matter of personal taste.

  • can anyone tell me what genre this music is? Like the soundtrack of requiem for a dream, i believe the song is called lux aeterna? i love it but i don't know how to find this music

  • I find it to be a nice day outside when its gloomy. Im sorry Im not like everyone else who likes bright days and such, i do also. But I like this...

  • Kronos Quartet, gods among violinists.

  • I love gothic doom style sounds it is very beautiful.

  • Dying Beauty....

  • Sokan nem tudják, hogy ez egy Magyar szerzemény. Egyetlen értékünk amely meghódította a világot. Egyébként én is 81- es vagyok. :) HAL

  • Azért Lugosi Béláról se feledkezzünk meg. :D Ő is meghódította a világot.

  • azért akad ott még egysmás ami érték.

  • wonderful

  • Dont you just love Gloom and Doom?

    Just kidding.

  • love it i enjoy it

  • thats great.

  • WOW!!! another version of this song that i have not until now heard, surprising as i am a kronos fan. i'm collecting all the good versions of this song..alot more than i thought, might be becoming a bit of an obsession. this version is definitely one of the best, strings have a way of expressing the emotional qualities of the song so well, especially when played to such a high standard. thanks for posting this graylady.

  • I've just posted a Gloomy Sunday vid myself, in case you're interested.

  • so wonderful....

  • i like the instrumental version much better, it sounded/appeared so beautiful in the film "Schindler's List".

  • at what part of the movie would you say it played?

  • at the beginning of the movie where Schindler attends the party thrown by SS personnel.

  • @buetforasif me too. i thought it was a classical piece like by beethoven or something until just right now.

  • @buetforasif this isn't instrumental??

  • @buetforasif Really? I didn't notice it there... In which scene?

  • @Foxglurves at the beginning of the film, when Mr. Schindler attends a party full of SS officers

  • @buetforasif correction: before Mr. Schindler attends the party, it's played on the radio. Starts around 3:04 in the film.

  • @buetforasif Gosh, it's been so long since I last saw the film. I shall keep an ear out for it next time I watch it though.

  • Beautiful....

  • no other word to describe it....

    beautiful indeed.
