From this interview one can make out that she is a clear and honest woman. Whether she is educated or not, or she is an indian or not does not matter. These controversies are tools to deviate her success as a politician and made by incapable people who can only comment and do nothing for the country and dont let others serve the country too.

I am no fan of Sonia Gandhi, but I think it is unfair for people to make fun of her accent or make a big deal of of her Italian origins when she spent most of her life being married to an Indian, gave birth to his children, learned his language , lived in India most of her life, etc. The Indians who do this are racists. Sonia shouldn't accept laughter at her accent either as if it is justified. The Indian accent doesn't sound any better when it comes up in Italian, I'm sure.

@spiritofthepines - You said it all well. Definitely her accent is smoother & better to hear. It's far2 better than our Indian-English accent. She was very cultured & to the point in words. Most Indian politician would have used some inappropriate words like 'stupid instead of odd' (at 6:10). Thats a very difficult question but she answered in a very cultured manner. I will accept that she loves India very much ... much more than many other mean-minded local politicians.
