One station group that aired this across their station group was Taft Broadcasting. Always chuckled as a kid hearing Ralph Lowenstein's voice on WTAF (had the Philly stations on cable in my section of NJ, northern Monmouth County).
A cherished memory of my youth in the New York area. The nighttime INN show was sent out live at 9:30 pm ET, two hours after the first WPIX "Action News" newscast. By 1981-82 WPIX had paired a 10 pm replay of the INN show with its 10:30 pm live local broadcast (originally 10 pm before the advent of INN). It was always fun to watch the rare slip-up of a taped report with the outcue "John Aubuchon, Channel 11 Action News" go out on the network broadcast.
Sounds like Kevin Lynn subbed this evening for Jerry Girard . . . also, Jerry Moring later went to WCBS-TV where he produced one of their newscasts as of 1984.
I think Independent Network News needs a Big Big Comeback!!

Dig the transition music WPIX used for INN too - the same as WPIX used for "Action News" since 1976.

I.I.N.M., the composer of that bumper music was also responsible for the 1976-79 theme music for WCBS-TV's newscasts.

I would love to see more INN Clips or WNEW Clips with Bill Jorgenson. Who was one of the best newsman on tv in the 70's and 80's.

And this just in... on Today's Markets, the Dow Jones has soared to 892!!!! (Yes, that's 8-hundred and 92, folks.)

Puts things in perspective. This video should be shown to anyone who complains when the Dow Jones goes below 12,000.
