Color Analysis: Ranger X (Sega Genesis) Ex Ranza Sega Mega Drive

Flink was labelled as 256-color, Ranger X as 128, and normal games as 64, but it looks like they used much less, except for games like Thunder Force IV, Street Fighter II and the recent Pier Solar. Were the developers lazy or what?

Anyway, that's an impressive tool you developed. I used to save screenshots and count colours in Paint Shop Pro!

is well known that genesis could output about 180 color per screen with flicking trick.

Just picked this game up for $8.50 in like new condition complete.I checked out these vids and had to get a copy.Cant wait till it gets here.

Sold all my Genesis games and original model 1 platform years and years ago (stupid move).I ended up buying a new Genesis model 3 for 19.99 right before they took it off the market.Now i am restocking my Genesis game collection.

The Genesis is my favorite console.Sega is my favorite game company of all time.Bringing arcade hits to your home since the 90's.

you make some really cool videos.i like this one especially,i always knew that ranger x was intense,as you can see in the colour coun't.like 40/50 constant and with shadow highlight it reaches the peaks.

Try the FMV intros of Eternal Champions and Puggsy on Sega CD.

Flink might be worth checking too. I don't know if it was ever claimed to exceed 64 colours, but even if it didn't, it's a pretty good showcase of how far 64 colours can go.
