  • ok I definitely prefer the argerich/rostropovich approach in this movement. Although this is beautifully played (obviously, such great musicians), I want the velocity and the impetuosity of this movement, which is compromised at this slower tempo

  • i wanna kiss this piece

  • Musically this is supposed to be pretty solid piece of work, whereby the composer got considerable help from his pal, but in terms of how real life cellists feel about this sonata, they are supposed to sort of hate it because it's damn uncomfortable to play, not idiomatic for the instrument at all, unlike, let's say, the Brahms

  • @fredericfranc See, you miss the point. Pieces that are not idiomatic for an instrument are often loved by those who want a challenge. Sibelius wrote pieces for the piano that are far from being idiomatic, yet are still well enjoyment.

  • So! There's a FOURTH movement? I knew it! I knew it!

  • Bravo!!!

  • glad you could reach here!!

    Love,

    T.
