150 db is very attainable if u buy good used shit....picked up a fosgate 15 t2 for 150 bucks and it hits WAY harder than the two 12 L7's i had,,,,,and u dont have to replace ur whole charging system,a optima battery under the hood and a 2farad cap works for me just fine in an eldorado w a 140 amp alt stock....havent had it tested but the L7's hit 142-145 soooooo.......

150 is easy to do, if done right. it all comes down to the box and the car your in,some car dissapate sound easier and some cars hold the pressure, i personaly hit 151 with 1 batt a stock alternator and 2 alpine x12's with a really shitty 1400 watt rms amp, but i built an awsome box, its all in the details

Im thinking of a single sub setup that'll hit 150dB's or close to it.. (+ or - 3dB), any suggestions? I have about 1200 to spend.. Im thinking orion hcca 15, hcca 5000d, ported to 27hz with a decent sized kinetiks battery in the trunk? any comments, suggestions, or critiques?

I´m using a Atomic APX 18D2 that is easily capable of hitting a 150+, even with "only" about 150liters and a music listening port. Woofer itself costs about 1300 new - and you may know - SuperStany (the yellow car in the clip) uses two of my APX(X) Woofers.

You'll have an easier time hitting 150db's by tuning higher than 27Hz. 150 dB's at 27Hz would be NASTY!

ok no way. you better start saving up waaaay more if you wanna do a 150.. with ONE sub. and it also depends on the vehicle your using. your not gonna do a 150 with just 2-3 kinetiks ( the 2400s retail about $400-450) you also need a different alternator. and the HCCAs are beefy as hell but i wasnt impressed when i heard them. save up
