what's sad is Toyota still uses the gated gear box...something that EVERYONE, even Kia stopped doing years ago because of all the issues. Only reason Toyota still uses it....it's cheaper and we all know how they like to cut corners on quality just compare any lexus to any toyota...and in contrasts do that with an acura and honda...honda uses the same materials whereas Toyota skimps out
My mom's camry is a 2005 MY. And my dad accidentally lost his gold ring which went through the handbrake lever inside. Luckily its very easy to pull the panel out. I was able to take it back with ease.
Last AMAZING camry was the 2001 Model...the 2002-2006 Models were Ok...still better than the 07-11 Models....i think there's some improvements for 2012.
u guys talk crap about how cheap toyota is but ive been in many ford focuses, touras, chevy aveo, and all the commercial cars that they release. they all feel like toyota's. the last time i checked, everything that is bought in stores now days is from china. If you guys want quality cars, tell the government to stop buying shit from china. By far toyota is proven to last longer; its a fact. American cars:CTS, Vette and Viper; are only worth to crown quality.
I agree... I have rented many of these later Camrys and they are much cheaper than my old 1993 Camry. I have noticed in these newer Camrys that those panels he popped off, are usually misaligned... also the center consoles feel really flimsey and cheap plastic.
@xoquixxoqafxo - oh yeah, people like that dont want to accept that Toyotas interior quality has declined, even well below that of the new American cars, which IMO are better than Toyotas these days. Someone has a new Toyota Venza cheap quality video on here and its horrible. The Camrys strong point is a padded dash, but the cheapness around the console is unacceptable. Yeah my 93 was like the 96, last of the good Camys IMO.
Moms friend has a 2010 Camry and it was hit by hail storms in April... I looked it over for her after the repairs and noticed how cheap/misaligned the lower interior a-pillars are. I have been in a new Avalon and Corolla too and the Corolla is even better than the Camry and its a cheaper car. The Avalon is acceptable, but should be better for a costly car... the Camry quality should be at the current Avalons quality level. Hoping the 2012 Camry has improved.... especially the console!
@xoquixxoqafxo my dad had a 95 camry. he bought it while it was new, and then he had no problems with it, and in 2005, he sold it, and the new owner has it right now- no problems, and he loves it. toyota was better quallity back then
@xoquixxoqafxo I had to find out if they really do pop right off, tried it in my friends Camry (2011) and boy they sure did, (yes a toddler could easily pull these off) he was not impressed to say the least. Apparently the models with auto climate are slightly different, that may be why some people are calling BS on your video.
@ExtremePeppers LOL, right. And its so awesome how people dont even get the fact that all cars no matter what brand are like this these days. This is by no means a toyota thing. This is a build it fast for the customers that will one use their credit cards and never own their cars. Two drop it and trade it in and use another loan to use that one world we live in today. All companies are like this now.
@tom58c Well from 1981 to the present time all the members of my family have owned 40+ Toyota cars and trucks. Never had to take it back to be repaired or got stuck on the side of the road. I kept my truck due to the fact It never caused me any problems. If I bought a S-10 of Ranger in 1991 Im sure it would have been gone along time ago.Or completely re-built.
what a coincidence nissan did the same thing with the altima & maxima from 02-06, the center console and other trim pieces just pop right up no effort at all
um its supposed to be able to pop off because thats how u can change things for ex. change the bulb in ur shift or put the naviw.e else around the dash ..ppl r so fuckin dumb smh..
I'm hoping the new 2012 will be better :/ theres some leaked photo's but theres no confirmarion of it's actually real. I really hope they made the interior better. The exterior of the 2012 looks pretty nice
Also, that isn't cheap. Its more expensive to make the moldings like that because of all the clips, when you could just have one chunk of plastic that you just need screws for. Its easier to maintain, and if A piece broke, its cheaper then replacing the whole dash.
@RAJSTA81 Yeah, but here's the problem, if you owned a 2004 Toyota Camry LE for a while, and you get a brand new 2011 Toyota Camry LE, your going to want your 04 back. It REALLY DISAPPOINTS me on how Toyota turned all there great car's that used to use the best quality materials into cheap plastic & cheap materials. The interior does not even get along with each other, and what I mean is that there is black plastic with very cheap silver looking plastic with a Beige interior.Toyota, plz fix this
If it was well thought out it wouldn't come off soo easily! Nothing in the interior should be that easy to remove without having to prey it out with a tool or unscrew it first. It was just Toyota's way of cost cutting. I know I didn't show it in the video but none of the panels in the interior fit together well. You have uneven fitment throughout the dash and doors and even the carpet on the driver side by the seat controls comes out on all the models I see.
@xoquixxoqafxo are you sure about that i have worked on cadillacs and they have parts that come off easy, the frame arounf the radio was cake to take off and power point was not hard at all to take off, did not use any special tools as you mentioned before only my hands and its a cadillac for gods sake how cheaper can they get i guess thats a bigger rip off than toyota. there's GM for yaa
@xoquixxoqafxo I agree with you that other types of cars do have better looking interiors or more up to date and/or more futuristic. But some people do like the simplicity of the toyotas and they buy them because toyota has been reliable in the past ( and as far as we know still are) and are cheaper to insure than Hondas. I drove my friends new camry from jacksonville to daytona and back and I loved it. I really think its personal preference like I don't care about the hard plastic but cloth
All of Toyotas interiors from 2010 have really gone down hill. Their dashes are cheap gaudy plastic that feels like porcelain. Toyota and Honda interior quality has drastically dropped over the years.
@FPGT24 Brian thanx for sendin' me this vid. It help out my channel a lot. I did not know that Toyota Camry have cheap interior too. Toyota has really gone to shit!
I'm not really a toyota guy and honestly I would never buy one. But how can you say that's cheap interior? That might possibly be what it's intended to do.
even if its supposed to do that. It should never come off that easily. I know I forgot to show in the video other cheap things so thats my mistake. Take a closer look at a new Camry the next time you are inside the interior.
@xoquixxoqafxo I have a 07 monte and my girl has a 08 camry and ill tell ya her interior is a hell of alot better than mine quality wise and just plain functionality. Now I love my american cars to death but toyota's do give you alot for your money. As others have stated those parts are more than likely made to pop off in that manner so yo can remove the console.
My dad has a 2010 camry se V6 and the only real thing i'd say I love about it is that it hauls ass. Otherwise the interior can be just terrible at times. I'm glad I didn't buy a toyota
@xoquixxoqafxo I did drive the 2011 accord coupe and I will say If I had to chose between an accord and a camry I would have bought the accord in a heartbeat. The camrys in general lack a lot of gadgets, styling and features that a lot of the competition offers and not to mention the accord was a much funner car and I agree 100% on the steering and interior of the accords, it matches the speed of the car perfectly
Toyota's just have a reputation of driving like big boats to our generation. I'm 22 and all my friends consider Toyotas to be their parents cars and all of them hate the numb steering and sloppy handling lol Its a shame bc in the past they had high quality interiors so you could at least overlook the blandness. Now all they have over the competition is the Toyota name and nothing else.
@xoquixxoqafxo Agreed they've gone pretty down hill. The handling on the camry stinks and even though I wouldn't buy a stick for a daily driver they could atleast offer a 6MT for the V6 model, I mean the altima and accord coupe do lol but then again I'd buy those before even considering a camry.
wow thats like the only thing u pointed out, how stupid i have a 2011 camry se...best car out there for sure...smooth ride beautiful sound system, very good gas milage and all i did to my white camry is paint the rims black and tinted my windows to give it that extra style...dont be jelous u couldnt get one lol
you toyota camry owners are such oblivious sheep. Thats not the only problem with the interior, most of the interior dash panels dont fit properly, the carpet below the driver side seat controls constantly comes out, and the door panel fitment around the arm rest and window controls are misaligned. You couldn't pay me to buy a current gen Camry, Id rather own a Kia Optima or Hyundai Sonata.
The so-called gas pedal problems are the least of their problems. I always thought it was a bunch of baloney anyways. Just a scam for most of the reported problems. What Toyota needs to work on is the lackluster products they sell. Especially, the Corolla, Camry, Matrix, and Yaris. Interiors are soo cheap, fuel economy is average to so-so, styling is bland, and boring to drive. There is nothing about them that's stands out and they depend too much on the "name" Toyota to sell.
@xoquixxoqafxo- The car is alot nicer than yours...i'm sure, why do you even rent one and waste your money on renting one if you don't like it! Explain that. My 2010 Toyota Camry SE will smoke your car, and it's a 4-cyl!
thats right, keep telling yourself that. I don't need to rent them. I drive them all day long at my job. All new Toyotas are a POS, the 4 cylinder is slow.
@sammyvick123 my dad has an 07 SE your 2010 would smoke his more than likely because my dads has a 2.4 L yours is a 2.5 L I love camrys best on the road in my opinion
@sammyvick123 my dad works at a toyota plant in georgetown,ky I really am anxious to see the 2012 camry I know yours is fairly new but you werent going to buy a 2012 when they came out were you my dads 07 had to have some work done and he drove a 2011 blue LE with the new 2.5 four cylinder not much faster as you said but still a good motor
@schindlerman96 - I may get the 2012 depending on what it looks like... but I will probably keep the 2010 if I get the 2012! I hope Toyota introduces the '12 Camry sometime soon. Do you know a est. date they will introduce it? I'm guessing by early to late summer.
@sammyvick123 my dad says in august at the georgetown plant no one can take vacation days then once he said he heard june it could be early summer or late summer most likely I am anxious to see what it looks like
I got the same rental right now I have been picking the shit out of the interior in my mind but the car drives really nice and fast but I would hate to spend the money on something that is so shittly built. I rented because a deer took out the side of my 98 honda accord which I might add the interior in my car is excellent shape and paint is excellent too for the 12 years its been on the road. But this toyota is nice but so cheap feeling I have to agreee with this guy.
Well thanks! You should see how horrid the interior looks when we are getting ready to get rid of the car. The fit and finish is just soo bad it makes me sick how people can buy this and find it acceptable. What trim and color is your 98? I got an 01 and I love it but I dont always love the MPG from the V6 and the 4 spd auto annoys me sometimes lol
@xoquixxoqafxo I have the DX with manual transmission. My accord is very light gray baby blue interior with standard equipment for dx trim. The body is a silver blue hue but most describe it as silver. I bought a honda v6 engine with transmission off this guy from craigslist to swap over into my civic but the auto I found sucks so I bought an 04 manual transmission. My standard 4 cylinder gets 25 in town and 31 mpg on the highway with 510 mile range on 17 gal tank. AC on mpg in town 17mpg
@xoquixxoqafxo actually i do care about fit and finish. I drive an mr-s.... fit and finish are great.... i work at a GMC/ Buick dealership .... you want to talk about fit and finish on those pieces of shit?? at least this Camry will go 200,000 miles and more without any major issue...
but thats all Toyota has lately... is there so called reputation for reliability. Unfortunately a cheap interior wont make a good first impression with ppl and will question whether the interior will actually hold up for that long. They used to have high quality interiors too and it helped cover up their blandness but now they dont.
Thanks for this vid. I do a similar channel as you do, but I haven't been renting any cars lately. I too noticed the misalignment of the Camry's interior trim pieces, but I didn't know that they would pop off so easily! To Toyota's credit, the Camry was probably the quietest mid-size car I've ever driven.
Actually I don't think they are very quiet, I drove a brand new 2011 for 35 miles on the highway and its got a good amount of wind noise at 70 mph. Its ride is nice I guess but its not as quiet as the older models. Next time you get into a rental camry pull off those pieces, they make me laugh still to this day lol
man dont hate on toyotas lmfao yh interiors changed ALL CARS HAVE LOL! every car has plasitic now but toyota can improve there plastic damn Chinese plastic
@xoquixxoqafxo I really want to know what the hell happened to Toyota. They were great in the past, but lately to red horns been growing out of it's logo if you know what I mean. I am starting to look into Subaru now. What do you think of Subaru? There made in Japan too.
Toyota was just was bent on surpassing GM as t he worlds largest automaker than in the process they forgot about quality. Kind of like how GM is. I think Subaru is alright, I don't love them or hate them kind of in the middle, I like the WRX. The one Subaru I did love was the old Legacy GT wagon from 05-07, but they don't make that anymore. I do notice that Subaru needs a new 6 spd transmission, their 4-5 spd are getting old and I hope they don't go CVT like in the new outback
@xoquixxoqafxo please go to (ToyotaUSA) Youtube page and get some sence into clunkerboy1, jbrcar, and of course superchargedwhine1. Because they think Toyota is doing better then any other car company in the world, and they also said Toyota's new cars are made better, and have the best materials then any other car manufacturer. And I think they need mental help.
This is exactly why my next car is going to be American...at least Ford can put out a good interior. What kind of car company can make a shit interior like that and then say "hey, we're still the best quality"? Riiiiiight...
Well GM is improving on a few certain models and Dodge only shows improvement in the new Ram, but everything else from them still isn't very good. But yeah, Ford is the best of the Americans, there are still a few ford models lagging tho, like the current gen focus but once ford completely redesigns all of their models that should correct that.
@xoquixxoqafxo I was 2011 Camry a few weeks ago, gotta say Toyota products have dropped in quality big-time. Doubt you'd get 200,000 out of it I think Chevys Malibu and Fords Fusion are better. I've been in a few new GM products the only ones that impress me are the Malibu and Regal. Havn't been in a Ford, but have Chrysler products and only thing that isn't shitty is the Ram.
I so hated driving these 2007 and newer Camry's Toyota Interior and exterior pieces are all clipped on. Rid like a Go-Cart and I just couldn't wait to get out of it after an hour. Driven both 4 and 6 cyl version.
its an american camry no wonder....

Now all they have over the competition is the Toyota name and nothing else.
xoquixxoqafxo 11 months ago
@xoquixxoqafxo Agreed they've gone pretty down hill. The handling on the camry stinks and even though I wouldn't buy a stick for a daily driver they could atleast offer a 6MT for the V6 model, I mean the altima and accord coupe do lol but then again I'd buy those before even considering a camry.

these new toyotas have awful interiors

wow thats like the only thing u pointed out, how stupid i have a 2011 camry se...best car out there for sure...smooth ride beautiful sound system, very good gas milage and all i did to my white camry is paint the rims black and tinted my windows to give it that extra style...dont be jelous u couldnt get one lol
castaneda024 1 year ago
@castaneda024
you toyota camry owners are such oblivious sheep.

What's making me mad is all the so-called "problems" with the gas pedal, that the media won't let go. I still trust my Toyota!
sammyvick123 1 year ago
@sammyvick123

They are supposed to be like that so if the radio needs to be fixed!

@sammyvick123
more lame excuses... it should never pop out soo easily, and why should the radio ever need to be fixed?
xoquixxoqafxo 1 year ago
@xoquixxoqafxo- The car is alot nicer than yours...i'm sure, why do you even rent one and waste your money on renting one if you don't like it! Explain that. My 2010 Toyota Camry SE will smoke your car, and it's a 4-cyl!
sammyvick123 1 year ago
@sammyvick123
thats right, keep telling yourself that. I don't need to rent them. I drive them all day long at my job. All new Toyotas are a POS, the 4 cylinder is slow.
xoquixxoqafxo 1 year ago
@sammyvick123 my dad has an 07 SE your 2010 would smoke his more than likely because my dads has a 2.4 L yours is a 2.5 L I love camrys best on the road in my opinion
schindlerman96 1 year ago
@schindlerman96 My SE is a very nice car, the 2.5L is not much faster then the 2.4L. I can't wait until the 2012 Camry comes out!
sammyvick123 1 year ago
@sammyvick123 my dad works at a toyota plant in georgetown,ky I really am anxious to see the 2012 camry I know yours is fairly new but you werent going to buy a 2012 when they came out were you my dads 07 had to have some work done and he drove a 2011 blue LE with the new 2.5 four cylinder not much faster as you said but still a good motor
schindlerman96 1 year ago
@schindlerman96 - I may get the 2012 depending on what it looks like... but I will probably keep the 2010 if I get the 2012! I hope Toyota introduces the '12 Camry sometime soon. Do you know a est. date they will introduce it? I'm guessing by early to late summer.
sammyvick123 1 year ago
@sammyvick123 my dad says in august at the georgetown plant no one can take vacation days then once he said he heard june it could be early summer or late summer most likely I am anxious to see what it looks like

I got the same rental right now I have been picking the shit out of the interior in my mind but the car drives really nice and fast but I would hate to spend the money on something that is so shittly built. I rented because a deer took out the side of my 98 honda accord which I might add the interior in my car is excellent shape and paint is excellent too for the 12 years its been on the road. But this toyota is nice but so cheap feeling I have to agreee with this guy.
egn83b 1 year ago
@egn83b
Well thanks! You should see how horrid the interior looks when we are getting ready to get rid of the car. The fit and finish is just soo bad it makes me sick how people can buy this and find it acceptable. What trim and color is your 98? I got an 01 and I love it but I dont always love the MPG from the V6 and the 4 spd auto annoys me sometimes lol
xoquixxoqafxo 1 year ago
@xoquixxoqafxo I have the DX with manual transmission. My accord is very light gray baby blue interior with standard equipment for dx trim. The body is a silver blue hue but most describe it as silver. I bought a honda v6 engine with transmission off this guy from craigslist to swap over into my civic but the auto I found sucks so I bought an 04 manual transmission. My standard 4 cylinder gets 25 in town and 31 mpg on the highway with 510 mile range on 17 gal tank. AC on mpg in town 17mpg
egn83b 1 year ago
@bmxrider1189
Thats bc you don't care about an interior that has good fit and finish, Everyone knows this current generation camry has poor fit and finish.
xoquixxoqafxo 1 year ago
@xoquixxoqafxo actually i do care about fit and finish. I drive an mr-s.... fit and finish are great.... i work at a GMC/ Buick dealership .... you want to talk about fit and finish on those pieces of shit?? at least this Camry will go 200,000 miles and more without any major issue...
bmxrider1189 1 year ago
@bmxrider1189
but thats all Toyota has lately... is there so called reputation for reliability. Unfortunately a cheap interior wont make a good first impression with ppl and will question whether the interior will actually hold up for that long. They used to have high quality interiors too and it helped cover up their blandness but now they dont.
xoquixxoqafxo 1 year ago
Thanks for this vid. I do a similar channel as you do, but I haven't been renting any cars lately. I too noticed the misalignment of the Camry's interior trim pieces, but I didn't know that they would pop off so easily! To Toyota's credit, the Camry was probably the quietest mid-size car I've ever driven.
motormusique 1 year ago
@motormusique
Actually I don't think they are very quiet, I drove a brand new 2011 for 35 miles on the highway and its got a good amount of wind noise at 70 mph. Its ride is nice I guess but its not as quiet as the older models. Next time you get into a rental camry pull off those pieces, they make me laugh still to this day lol
xoquixxoqafxo 1 year ago
man dont hate on toyotas lmfao yh interiors changed ALL CARS HAVE LOL! every car has plasitic now but toyota can improve there plastic damn Chinese plastic

xoquixxoqafxo 1 year ago
@xoquixxoqafxo I really want to know what the hell happened to Toyota. They were great in the past, but lately to red horns been growing out of it's logo if you know what I mean. I am starting to look into Subaru now. What do you think of Subaru? There made in Japan too.
joewillgo 1 year ago
@joewillgo
I do notice that Subaru needs a new 6 spd transmission, their 4-5 spd are getting old and I hope they don't go CVT like in the new outback
xoquixxoqafxo 1 year ago
@xoquixxoqafxo please go to (ToyotaUSA) Youtube page and get some sence into clunkerboy1, jbrcar, and of course superchargedwhine1. Because they think Toyota is doing better then any other car company in the world, and they also said Toyota's new cars are made better, and have the best materials then any other car manufacturer. And I think they need mental help.

@thecarexpert18

xoquixxoqafxo 1 year ago
This is exactly why my next car is going to be American...at least Ford can put out a good interior. What kind of car company can make a shit interior like that and then say "hey, we're still the best quality"? Riiiiiight...
cjf2012 1 year ago
@cjf2012
Well GM is improving on a few certain models and Dodge only shows improvement in the new Ram, but everything else from them still isn't very good. But yeah, Ford is the best of the Americans, there are still a few ford models lagging tho, like the current gen focus but once ford completely redesigns all of their models that should correct that.
xoquixxoqafxo 1 year ago

I person can dismantle a Toyota in under a day.
