This is incredibly beautiful, but, sadly, is nothing even remotely close to my experience of grief. I see people supporting one another through a passionate experience. I can easily see a parallel to grief there. But I see strength and grace and beauty and youth, as oppose to the crippling, disgusting, lonely, helpless experience that leaves you decades older that grief is. It's just too pretty.
This is not me declaring the piece a failure, you just can't reach everyone I suppose.

All of Kate Jablonski's dances are absolutely breath taking and amazing. I have never seen someone be able to put so much emotion and character into a dance like she can. Plus she has very talented dancers that are in sync and make the most of the dance itself. You have my vote, Kate Jablonski...Absolutely amazing!!!!!

I would kill to be able to do this. I've wanted to be a dancer for as long as I can remember. Sadly I live in a little suburban city that doesn't really have any dance company with professionals teaching. I don't play sports, and my weight's gotten over the edge a bit. I'd love to be able to start this kind of dancing, even though I'm already 15. :/
It's definitely not too late for you to start. If you are really passionate about dance learn what you can online, start with the basics and get in shape, and you can progress. Really make sure you learn the correct way to move your body, if you want any help message me, but I promise you it's not too late if you really love dance. :]

Art is subjective, I've performed things knowing fully that a few people will think it's brilliant, but the vast majority of people will think it's dumb. We're dancers, we perform for them non the less, it's our job :)
That was an absolutely amazing piece of work. I can't tell you haw much I appreciate this piece, especially from an artists perspective. Not only was the choreography brilliant and inspiring but it reflected the music beautifully (and as a musician I don't say that lightly). As a group the three of you guys had amazing chemistry and strength. And the dance itself was executed beautifully. Amazing job you guys! ^_^

@osioda i actually thought the exact same thing. and it's not just this one dance. it's a lot of them. don't get me wrong, kate jablonski is an amazing choreographer and the dancers are fascinating. just the song choice is a bit off with these types of mouvements.
@osioda I disagree. It's the contrast between the calm music and the harsh movements that makes this dance so great. In my opinion, it truly describes grief: a combination of emotions that are confusing and overwhelming. It's pieces like this that make Kate Jablonski's choreography so unique and powerful.
@katko13 I think the choreography is OK but I don't feel the unique & powerful bit from the dance when performed with this song. At times the dancers appear awkward & the moves don't flow, unless that's what KJ set out to achieve, which in that case she has.
I think sometimes we fail to see what's put in front of us and look for some spiritual or greater meaning, when in reality an artist is trying push the boundaries, some work, some don't & imo this one doesn't work....well for me anyway
A young girl from my dance studio passed away in January this year Brie Rose Antonio. We miss her so very much. This reflects how we feel about her. <3 R.i.p.
I love the part at 1:32 where she reaches out to the sky and then breaks down sobbing. The other girls rush over to her, trying to console her. Afterwards, they all walk away wringing and shaking their hands as if they don't know what to do about the situation. The imagery is so real. It's amazing=]
