They forgot that the US federal government over -rid BP's existing drilling permit they got from Louisiana, and sent them out further into deeper waters than was safe. Kind of hard to say it was a corporate conspiracy when it was caused by interference that made the corporation's job harder.

Check out how deep Our government wants support Petro-Brazil in drilling. It's even worse. Of course, if you have influence over oil prices like that it's easy to make money shorting it.
