Lindbergh NEVER loved the Nazis. This is a completely unsupported accusation, commonly fostered by ignorant people. He initially admired Hitler's Germany, because of how well run the country was, and due to its dedication to developing the aviation industry. But he quickly rejected Hitler when Kristallnacht, or the Night of Broken Glass, took place. Want to learn more? Type "Charles Lindbergh: The Lone Eagle" into the search window and check out Steve Carroll's one-man show on Lindy. It's great.
my gr - grandmother and her father used to haul the airmail out to meet his plane out by bradfordton and athens illinois. she said he was kinda of quiet and shy. she was newly widowed and i think on the prowl for a husband. she said ,she thought he was sort of a sissy. they never called him lucky lindy or the lone eagle. they just called him slim. she said he was on the st louis to chicago airmail run.
gosh, 33.5 hours over the Atlantic in a single engine relying on vfr conditions, Lindbergh and the others before him had guts! Informative documentary, nice job

Lindbergh LOVED the Nazis until the very end of the war, when he visited a liberated concentration camp and saw the atrocities.
