  • Salute Mr Low!

  • Do you know how CPF come about? It's like the 60s so-called protections' money but this government also make employers, bleed even more with their "kind intention" of saving on your behalf? Many singaporeans are giveing up citizenship so as to get back what;s rightfully their for a dignified retirement elasewhere unless...

  • Hope more of us will open our eyes and support the real party who speaks truly for the people...

    long life WP!

  • I feel so shameful every time I see the parliament seats so empty... Where did the ministers and those MPs go to? They get high pay yet they do not bother to turn up in Parliament to speak up for their residents..No wonder after GE 2011 PM said that next time they have to make reports if they could not turn up in the parliament...

  • how about join all oppsition party into one worker party same like pap can i dont seen we cannot.because only worker party got hammer.

  • CPF policies set by PAP is inhuman. I used to work in the retirement dept. Old folks below age 62 call n say they need money from the retirement account (RA) but i can only tell them no. Those above 60/62 call saying $297/mth isn't enough, I can only say no can't be increased. Those who are sick call to ask for more payout, I can only reply 'you can only withdraw lumpsum from the RA if u are 6mth terminally ill'.

Some who are truly desperate for money cry on the phone saying it's their hard-e

  • WOW why the PAP MPs looked like slping or daydreaming one?

  • @Redsunns when MR LOW is speaking of cos they act bo chap or slping lor.

  • Well said!!

  • Mr LTK FTW

  • Powerful blunt speech. Im just a young singaporean. But I respect Mr Low much more than any other PAP ministers.

  • his chinese is really good!

  • Did you all manage to see so many of them are lazing in parliament? Did they receive education on RESPECT?

Yawnz.. How I wish I can be like those ministers lazing during my meetings.

  • support him !

  • Be it PAP or opposition, whoever policy works well for the country, for the people should be adopted. Politicians need to know that they can make the people life easy or hard, the scale is big. Ultimately, it is the people, not statistic, KPI, reports.....

Comparing one who lives in a country that tops everything but is worrying basic needs daily to a low profile country but happily doing a decent job & income, less financial stress place. Which one will you choose to go?

    What is your focus

  • I heard you people have ISD, GST, COE, ERP, ARF, PARF... what are all these? My Singaporean friends told me they are money sucking machines installed by the government? How could that be? What the international community know is the Singapore PAP government is a (truly} world class democracy. It that true?

  • this speech comes from a person who walks among the people and talk to them instead of trying to understand us as numbers and figures of statistic or demographic data..

only singaporeans who experience the day to day life of an average citizen could understand the fallacy of this policy..

  • 不愧是潮州怒汉!!! 苟延残喘!!! 说得好!!!

i doubt those pap mp can understand what he said, all only speak English.

  • How i wish he was the prime minister.. Damn..

This is why our country has so many problems.

  • Thanks, Mr. Low! Our voice, Our New Hope. :-)

  • leonlim: yes, there is a translator in paliament whereby the non chinese MPs can listen through the headphone. translators in paliament has to be good in english and their 2nd language.

  • @Mrtotallynaked hahaha! i think even Chinese pap mp need the translators too!

  • @moonlightaffairs no?? Quite a number of non chinese MP are on earphones, fatimah (if spelled correctly) is one of them. They have a background translator to do the translation to english, on the spot, which can be head through the earphone.

  • @moonlightaffairs Cos I had an excursion to parliament before. What i mentioned is according to what they explained. They also have a writer that will write out word for word according to what each member says. Still got alot. U can ask them to update you on the next event if you wanna know more. :-)

  • i wanna parliament fight like in taiwan lol! That would be cool

  • Salute to the government of singapore for the great achievement that we have achieved for being the busiest port in the world, highest government saving in the world , highest GDP ,best airline - SIA of course, rated best judiciary, least corrupt governemt, police, voted best airport(more than 300 awards),best military hardware in asia, first asian nation to have submarine, top 3 in math olympiad, voted best place to do business, etc, so what else do you expect from such good govt? THE SKY THE LIMIT?

  • i cant believe dat they allow 2nd language in the parliment

  • this is already happening... old singpaoreans feel they are useles.... hai~

  • we need the workers party!

  • Thia will be valuable in connecting well with China PR and new citizens.

  • we have to look at this at a mature view, who has governed Singapore well enough for this country to prosper? you should have seen how he has spoken in English. and should every Speech Rally, if he ever makes it to become the PM, be translated into English? how can he address to the people who doesn't speak Mandarin?

  • you are then being immature.

Does speaking english makes or break the quality of a person?

And again, who says he have PM-ambitions?

PAP did a gd job, yes! But unless you didnt even whine a bit abt their policy (and some being illogical), i cant agree that PAP is perfect.

  • @ilovemssim are u sure he don't know english? His english is more fluent than LHL. Check out other videos or watch channel news asia. His best asset is good in both languages which most pap candidates can't match. That's why he won in hougang and PAP don't send their top player like LKY, LHL to contest weak areas like hougang/potong pasir, there is high prospect of losing. It will cause them to lose face because media will report.

  • low is a strong leader ,,he bring properity to singapore citizen ..

  • EH... do the other non-Chinese speaking MP understand this? I thought everything is in English, or the least is Malay.

  • i tot it was a chinese parliment for a moment!

  • there is a translator for everyone.

if you take a look at the non-chinese MPs, they are hearing the translation thru a headset.

It is part of the parliamentary regulation that allows all MPs to speak in whatever language they desire.

  • we need to support the opposition...they only control 2 seats! GIVE THEM A CHANCE

  • well said Mr Low !!!!!!!!Surport u all the way!!!thanks for speaking up for us.

  • omg, he really voice out for us.. thank you Mr Low.

  • This man is possibly very well spoken and maybe a great person.

  • He is opposition Workers' Party headman, Mr Low Thia Kiang. PAP cannot win him! Hougang constituency forever belongs to the Workers' Party !!!!!

  • i fully support Mr Low to address this issue. It is ridiculous that our money has been decided by the PAP. Then may i know what does the Government do with our CPF funds? Why are we getting back only 4% return? please address us!!

  • Yay, kudos to Mr. Low. I am 16 and live in Hougang, an opposition area. Every time during the GE, I will always see one of the most exciting elections between PAP representative Mr. Eric Low and Mr. Low Thia Kiang. Yes, we need to really have some opposition members in parliament or else the PAP will be in control of the whole govt... (btw we must also acknowledge the leadership of our govt. actually to compare with other countries. at least our govt is rather efficient and transparent. )

  • WeLL, We must agree with some of the commentsss made.. The only thing to do if u wanna change the system is to VOTE FOR OPPOSITION in the next GENERAL ELECTION... Sometime we must have few opposition to check out on our government whom control entirely by PAP..

  • Truth is..

Singapore is not rich. Our savings in CPF is being used for our ministers' salaries. Taxpayers' yearly money is not as much as whole Singaporean monthly CPF contributions. Only way to keep our money is to produce this stupid policy.

More and more Singaporean declaring as unemployed due to this policies. I'd rather work and get daily pay than having monthly CPF contributions. Blame who?

  • @enikisser u are right, average singapore citizen is not rich in fact as poor as 3rd world citizens. The GDP & currency all look rich in reality its only outside cover. Comparing to north korea govt the only difference is singapore open doors to let capitial/ foreign influx whereas the latter close doors and claim they are the best race on earth. Both are similar elitist totalitarianism only thing is on a different scale.

  • I am not going to follow the govt's retirement age thing. I work hard when I'm young now, I do my own financial planning and I will aim to retire early, say by 50. I have other things in life that I want to pursue other than being enslaved till the day I fall ill and die! As a Singaporean, I'm not very pleased that the government wants us to work longer and longer. Most people will have one pretty sticky medical condition or another by the time they reach 50s.

  • CPF withdrawal should reduce back to 55. if a person is out of job at 55 and cannot find a new job and is all alone.. and the withdrawal age is 67... will probably be in trouble for 12 years

  • I am really upset. Wked n slog 4 28 years n lookg forward 2 my retirement holiday. Now gv is going to delay and hold my cpf. Worse still, i dont even have the rights to decide on my OWN $. Gov act as if it is their $

  • Dun you know that PAP Government treat CPF money as their own money mah?

And yes it is vert frustrating that our OWN MONEY is being controlled by others and we have no say at all.

  • I don't trust the Sg gov one bit. I only trust them when all my CPF money is in my bank account. From what is going on now, don't think I will get ALL my CPF money even if I'm dead.

  • Well Said !!!

  • PAP has squandered all the money already in ShinCorp and all other "investments".

They then plunder the nation even further with their multi-million dollar salaries, They claim Sg is a democracy, but in reality it is a nepotistic kleptocracy.

They will con you out of your money!! They breed, you bleed!!

  • When will you all Singaporean get it that the SG govt has lost all your CPF $. They are just using a delay tactic and hoping you die before you can collect your CPF. So my advice to all you SG ppl out there just write it off and move on.
