hi,how did u render the PRT loader in static mode while the camera moves around it?im having problem doing that as when i animate my camera, the PRT loader animates too.i tried collapsing the PRT loader, but i lost the colours made in krakatoa channel.hope i can get an answer from you thanks.
@critleaks PRT Loader -> Particle File Loader rolldown menu -> timing section -> check the "Limit to Custom Range" and then type in the frame you want to freeze, e.g.: "Range 100 - 100", so now, your PRT loader will only read the 100th frame, but keep all the colour and velocity, etc parameters. hope I helped :)
@critleaks Another method is to check the "Graph [a]" (leave it to 0), and to the frame offset just type in the frame number you want to hold. Good luck :)
@ALSPEHEIR it wasn't as much actually :) Krakatoa's speed is incredible! fume sim and savin the particles took about 5-7 hours rendering was maybe 2 in FullHD, so if you have the particles it will just cost a few hourse in almost any kind of resolution
@thatsfornoobs Well that guy's entire channel was a bunch of intro videos for his own channel and a first person shooter compilation. Not exactly turning down a golden publicity opportunity.
@Esoremada Actually your the dick hole for openly insulting one of your following (NewLineProductionz) by using a smiley face after you tell him "nope". Sorry buddy but that isn't how you treat your viewers and that's why you are unsuccessful.
@thatsfornoobs Im unsuccessful because Im not a graphic designer... what are you even talking about lol. All I have on my channel is some guitar covers. Im not the one who posted this video buddy. Im just calling you out on your dickholishness for getting all pissy that he didnt let someone use his work for free in their channel intros. I take back my insult of NewLineProductionz, he seems polite enough about it and doesnt mind not beings allowed to use it.
@Esoremada When did I say you were unsuccessful because you were a graphic designer? "Im unsuccessful because Im not a graphic designer... what are you even talking about lol" I said you don't have many subscribers, because your a fucking dick.
@thatsfornoobs I dont have many subscribers because I havent posted a video in 2 years, I dont use my channel for media. In fact, just now is the first time in a while that I've checked it and there seems to be a lot of people being really nice with their posts on my channel so obviously they dont think im a dick.. other than ENDOFANAGEMUSIC haha but go look at his channel. Im just saying youre a dickhole for trying to deny this guy his right to keep his work private, nothing more or less.
@Esoremada "I'm just saying youre a dickhole for trying to deny this guy his right to keep his work private, nothing more or less." You missed my point. I'm not mad because you denied him for using the beat, it's the fact that you were rude about it and smiled afterwards like you were happy to tell him no. And people are being positive about the song because this is an amazing beat, not because you are a genuinely good person, fucking dumbass.
@thatsfornoobs again, Im not the one who posted this video lol. I didnt deny anyone the right to use this, he did. And again, youre a dickhoel for complaining about it.--
hi csicso, I really like your effect! I'm a beginner with fumefx/pflow and would love to be able to reproduce a similar effect. If possible, could you clarify a bit for me? In your description, did you mean that you designed a fumefx smoke that you liked, and then spawned particles from the torus with pflow (following in a trail), and attached the fumefx smoke to those pflow particles? I'm trying to create a cool trail that floats like this one. Thanks for your time!
you could do it that way, you wrote, but theres a shorter way:
theres a particle flow operator called fumeFX birth and fumeFX follow. You just need to use these to create this kind of effect. Particles will born where FumeFX voxels are and then these partic les will follow the smoke simulation.
Give it a try: fume sim -> pflow: FumeFX birth, fumeFX follow and thats all :)
@Stompy1 Thanks a lot! :) a bit more complicated but you can find some very good tutorials on youtube or on vimeo. Search for color by velocity/vorticity ;)
@NovikovAntonBox of course it depends and affect velocity. You can find the time scale vale on the top of the simulation tab. you can easily animate is and particles will also follow it.
krakatoa is a particle rendering software for 3ds max. There are some great render engines (Mental ray, maxwell render, v-ray, but they aren't built for particle rendering.
You simulate some kind of effect with particles (dust storm, clouds, snow, smoke) then rendering these out with krakatoa very fast and high detailed!
wow, thank you very much for your answers!youve officially become one of my guru, thanks!

@csicso3d Do you know, how i can make time scale in particles with fumefx? Does velocity channel depend from time scale?
