I actually like this movie as well. LOL! "Yet she still wants to party"- I thought that was stupid myself, but maybe teens handle fear, depression, and really bad news in that manner(?). I think Scout Taylor is purrty too and I give 'em props for casting her. She was in a silly lil film called, Sleepover. Also Evan Peters(American Horror Story) was in Sleepover...AND the main character from Sleepover was in, Repo:A Genetic Opera. Kinda weird...Disney kids expressing their darkside I suppose.

Oh ya...The first half of the remake took place in the late 80's early 90's.. i believe that's what Rob said and the last half took place now in 2007-2008

I liked H2 as well...it was a fun film and it was definitely a Rob Zombie film.

The movie could've definitely had a lot more suspense to it and the kills could have been more inventive but there was something about this movie that was very entertaining. The acting was good, the characters were charismatic, and the cinematography was excellent. Although, I can understand why certain people didn't like this movie, I found it to be vastly superior to Zombie's first attempt.

This Halloween in all the wrong way: acting, story, sound effects, directing. Since when Micheal Myers became a lumber jack man? This is so wrong. Rob Zombie didn't screwed majorly on the first one but boy did he on this one. White horse was so cliche ....It was in so many other movies. Rob better stop while he can or kids going to egg his house on Halloween.

you know, if Zombie had included the white horse scene in the first one then maybe i could have bought it. But it felt like he didn't connect the two very well. I did like the way he made michael more human. But sorry dude, i thought this was totally lame.

I didn't like what he did to Dr. Loomis in this version. I get thatthis wasn't a remake it was a "retelling" of Halloween and this was it's conclusion. But I thought it was pretty bad. The story of his mother as lame. Not original at all. And the continuity wasn't there. it was like Zombie forgot what he did in the first one. The whole opening sequence with his mom bringing the white horse was just ridiculous.

it's a matter of record just how much i hate Zombie's attempt at Halloween. but i was hoping this one might be a little better since i thought the major problems with the first one was the absolute rape of his origin with all the mystery taken out and this one would be leaving that stuff behind. i'm going to give this one a try no matter what but i'm still glad to hear your thoughts on it.

In the remake when lourie was older it was present day and cell phones and flat screen tv's exist. And it was 2 years later not one year.

I couldn't remember, and to make sure of that fact I would have had to re-watch the remake and there's no friggin' way I'm subjecting myself to that torture again. But thanks for letting me know. I thought Zombie just didn't care.

i totally agree i loved it i had very low expectations maybe that's why. i came out of the theater happy and saying to myself and to my friend that's what Rob's first movie should of been. Michael was Bad Ass in this and the kills were really brutal. all and all the movie was good some awkward moments but it was all good. btw i like laid to rest the acting was very bad but the kills made up for it Lol. good review man.

i like rob zombie a lot so i was excited for the first halloween. we saw it in the theater (we barely see anything in the theater), and we didn't really like it but my brother charlie was scared haha. i was disappointed, but at the same time i was glad that zombie was making halloween 2. glad to hear you say you like part 2. i'll have to check it out. glad it's not a re-make of the original part 2 (even though that one's not bad). great video. yet she still wants to party haha.

How is this a Halloween film again? Oh because it has a mask that resembles the clean white William Shatner one and it has the word Halloween in the title. ok, just checking.

Good review...no offense towards you but this movie sounds like crap compared to Laid to Rest which was more like Halloween than RZ's 2007 remake.

Honestly, it bared no resemblance to a Halloween movie. That aside, I thought it was a fun stand-alone slasher movie, more in the vein of House of 1000 Corpses than a Halloween film.

He had this funky story and a cast only horror fans would know so why not just give it a different title and leave Michael alone? Oh yeah, because the Halloween name will attract people....it's all about money of course. Forget the creativity and art to filmmaking....they want money no matter how low they stoop. I thought I hated RZ after White Zombie went away but now it's a hate on a whole new level.

I am really looking foward to seeing this on Monday. I am kind of pissed I have to work this weekend because I will admit I did enjoy Halloween 2007 and have been looking foward to this one since I heard smatterings about it before Rob Zombie's involvement was made official. I am really glad to here that someone who did not enjoy R.Z.'s first attempt likes the newest incarnation. Thank for the prompt post I have been waiting since I got off work for at least one review I can trust.
