She doesn't make the point that the reason why these changes are so painful (if they are actually happening, I'm very aware of how stats can be manipulated) is because, in the same way women are viewed as sex objects and judged on their apperance, men are viewed as sucsess objects and judged on the size of their wage packet. A man who can't support his family is viewed as a faliure. This is something that needs to be challenged.
