Es scheint, als hätte es zwei so schreckliche Kriege gebraucht, damit die so ambitionierten Grossstaaten zur Vernunft kommen. Letzten Endes ist es auch dem wirtschaftlichen Erfolg zu verdanken, dass alles gut gekommen ist. Sobald dies nicht mehr gegeben ist, sei vorsicht geboten.
Ein Konstrukt, das die Staaten und ihre Bürger so nötigt, ist alles andere als Fortschrittlich.

It are always the larger country's that will become the most mighty leader and that the smaller country's will disappear, that is what smaller country's, like belgium or the Netherlands are afraid of.

Any decision from the Commission requires approval from the European Parliament. The current development though is that europe always orientates itself after the weakest. The ECB is ruled by the unstable south, the commission and thus the entire EU is run by an unelected wanna be napoleon. @ReddoFreddo If someone stops to identify himself with his nation the respective culture is already disappearing. I could accept to say I am german and germany is a part of Europe. But just Europe? Without the nations of which it consits, europe is nothing but a geographic term. It is not possible to form a centrlized european state without destroying that which has made this continent so cultivated and technologically advanced.

Second world war axis lost 93% of its forces in the soviet union,and the allied force that invaded Germany totaling 5 M men,had included 1.5 M french(always at the vanguard),and hundreds of thousands of other continental europeans,that fled from nazi dominated Europe.
UK was important,there is no doubt of it,but never the most important and decisive force.
Its not a question of losing,its a question of you knowing some history that I guess you do not.

Napoleonic wars,won by the russians,and Iberians,Waterloo Napoleon teenage army(with the guard attached) in disadvantage almost dislodged wellington army of english,belgians,scots,dutch,germans,from their position,only the arrival of the prussians made the victory decisive.
WWI UK at its maximum height had 2 M men in France,while french army totaled 8.5 M men,decisive second battle of the Marne France 44 divisions,British just 4 divisions.
WWI won mostly by France.

You never conquered a single continental european country,all invasions on England by continental europeans were a success,(french 2 times,dutch 1 time) your country was secondary in all wars it made against european powers,your persistence can be explained just by 2 factors,the channel which prevented your pathetic army of being crushed 2 times(Napoleon and nazi Germany)and the fact that continental european powers had to maintain very strong armies to battle each others,

@ViriathusVingathor I'm spanish, and we were never defeated at the sea by the english, it's all british propaganda, british just sinked 5 of our ships, and then the armada had to flee because of the weather, and 51 of our ships wrecked (half of the armada)
If it wasn't for the weather, Spain would've invaded UK. Spanish Armada was far away better by that time, Royal Navy sucked. it's like comparing now Spain to the USA.

@TheReolus the spanish armarda was crewed by soldiers. the british navy had saliors when it came to ship to ship fighting the british had an advantage in both speed and seasmonship. the spanish main advantage would lie in boarding actions and in sheer numbers. to say the royal navy sucked is just insulting.
