Isn't this just one of the best bloody songs ever?

While mainstream pop/rock is often concerned with little more than drugs/soft porn, this guy comes up with a classic song harking back to the golden years of old Hollywood movies.

And it has some of the best lyrics ever. By the way, it was months after hearing this that I discovered you could buy "Four Roses" bourbon in Tesco's, though I still haven't tried it!

i don;t disagree. all i know is i heard the song LONG before i saw this, and as far as i'm concerned, my IMAGINATION of what this story looked like was better.

in my opinion, that sentiment is a credit to the SONGWRITER, who is painting a scene to be interpreted through one's ears, and pictured in one's mind.

Most songs are stories... that doesn't mean the video has to be EXACTLY what the lyrics are saying... that's amateur... i'm not saying this is amateur, i just think it could have been better if it weren't dragging... my solution for the dragging would be seeing Josh singing and less of the story... (is it okay for people to be singing in music videos or should all videos be an exact interpretation of the lyrics?)...

it's odd... i agree... but the video is unique and seemingly well done... something about it just doesn't click with the song... it's unfortunate but i'd kind of just like to see it really simplified... see Josh singing and playing inter-cut with this video... less of the dragging story and more of josh singing... i think that's my remedy...

Absolutely love this video, it matches the song so well! And this has to be one of my favorite songs of all time, it's so...it's easy to imagine yourself as any of the people he's singing about. I always find myself wishing I was Lillian. I love riding my bike to this song, too.

I would never compare dylan and ritter. They are both brilliant in so many categories, but I really couldn't make the comparison.

And dylan hit virtually every one of his notes, just because someone has a unique voice does not mean they can't sing. I love dylan's voice.

Great video! I downloaded Josh's newest album off of iTunes a couple weeks ago. It's fantastic. Best album I've heard in a long time.
