The entire American military was revamped after WWII, they adopted the German's approach to warfare almost identically. The infantry format of modern American soldiers follow the same structure around the machine gun, with suppression and flanking. The blitzkrieg approach with using Air and Artillery bombardments, followed by Tank and Infantry attacks, the NV optics placed on infantry. They basically stole all the good ideas the Nazi's had towards warfare and made their own versions of it.

@wcropp1 We really didn't have much of an idea of individual freedom in Germany until after World War 2. Like Russia after the Cold War, the first try at democracy didn't go very well, so people were really quite happy to have a strong leader who crushes all the politicans who do nothing but talk. And if your neighbours were rounded up on trucks never to be seen again, people didn't ask questions.
It was only after the war that people admited that the whole thing was a bit suspicous.
Nazi Germany was the best country ever because they invented so much that is important to us today. The mg42 still lives on as the mg3 and the Tiger essentially bonded with the DNA of the Panther to make the ultimate tank. America got out of the depression, guided missile invented, jet legitimized, assault rifle, rockets become large scale reality, flying wing, nuclear fission/fusion get attention, etc. BUT when the allies won, Stalin backstabbed everyone and technology was stolen/lost forever.

@jabooper Did you know the soviets were planning to back stab us in WWII at the end of the war? We were just a lower chess piece in their master plan to get the road block, Germany, out of the way so the USSR could take the rest of the worn out world easier. A very unique weapon with a tedency to vaporize, microwave people alive, and give prolonged chronic death pains suprisingly got exposure at the last second in Japan and indefinitely halted the plan. It's interesting to see that toward the end of the war, many SS soldiers fled the Eastern Front to go to the Western front because the Soviets would never take them prisoner, the Americans and British went easy on them.

If Germany were to have a extremely powerful industry, they would've won. If the U.S. kept neutral through wars end, the Axis powers would've won. Due to attrition in their own numbers, the Germans were happy to have them. In the Wermacht and in the SS there were traitor French, Belgians, Norwegians, Estonians, Latvians, Croatians, Danes and many other nationalities. There were around 350,000 foreign troops in the Waffen SS alone. Germany had plenty of help.

The sole reason the Russians inflicted more casualties was because Hitler hated the Russians more than the Western Allies and Russia was fighting on its own soil. It doesn't matter if none of the soldiers were like Audi Murphy. The Nazis do not have the supply lines that are capable of keeping the invasion force going. And that's not even getting into the US's industrial power or the fact that people would be more motivated to fight in the event of a war on their own soil as opposed to a war on the other side of the planet. Face it, Nazi Germany may be good enough to take on the UK and the USSR, and win if it was 1v1, but the US, hell no.

@gameragodzilla I think the SS would be able to defeat the over glorified SEALS since SEALS operate in small groups and are individual and stealth oriented. Loyalty means you fight for king and country no matter how hopeless the situation is, complete dedication to the success of a mission.
@scoped98k SEALs are special forces. Special forces focus on small groups of highly trained troops strategetically inserted to cause mayhem for the other side. The Waffen SS functioned more like elite grade troops that kicked ass when the Wehrmacht did not. Still, do you notice Americans? They are VERY loyal to the country. The rest of the world looks at American patriotism with awe and confusion, so I'm not worried about our normal forces being bought out.
So, going back on my original point (because Youtube limits the amount of characters you can type), the Waffen SS and the Navy SEALs fill different roles in battle. Comparing them is like comparing Apples and Oranges. The closest comparison is probably the USMC, because the USMC functions as quick-response, fast moving soldiers who kick ass when the regular Army is bogged down. Anyways, in a shooting war between the US and the "won WW2" Nazi Germany, it'll probably be a stalemate.

Stg44, Tiger Tank, MP-40, Vampir Nightscope, MG-42 and various other German weapons designs were completely radical for the time, and their operators were extremely brave and courageous in combat, and yes, were extremely loyal to the cause. The bias comes from the fact that the cause doesn't really sit well with most people, so some of the criticisim is deserved. If I called the Waffen SS a group of genocidal thugs, Id be justified doing so, but calling them "cowards", though, is definately NOT.
So, my general opinion of the Waffen SS is this: They were working for an evil cause, and killed many innocent people, but they were still brave in combat and put up a very good fight, taking on three world powers and nearly succeeding. They were tricked out with some of the best gear of WW2, including the first true assault rifle, the best machinegun of WW2, the first night vision, and the best WW2 tank, cementing them as some of history's best villainous badasses.

The Americans did a really good job at forcing the german people to understand what they had done by letting the wrong people into power, and since then the germans themselves are making great efforts to educate people what really happened. Ummmm the western allies tecnically didnt win the war in fact they would had uterly failed the war if it wasnt for the russian victory at Kursk. If the germans won at kursk then normandy would have been backed up with 3 SS divisions of Liebstandatre, Das Reich and Totenkopf which is about 65,000 men. The ocean would have turned red. Also the russians faced the larger part of the german army and reached Berlin first.

The entire American military was revamped after WWII, they adopted the German's approach to warfare almost identically. The infantry format of modern American soldiers follow the same structure around the machine gun, with suppression and flanking. The blitzkrieg approach with using Air and Artillery bombardments, followed by Tank and Infantry attacks, the NV optics placed on infantry. They basically stole all the good ideas the Nazi's had towards warfare and made their own versions of it.

@wcropp1 We really didn't have much of an idea of individual freedom in Germany until after World War 2. Like Russia after the Cold War, the first try at democracy didn't go very well, so people were really quite happy to have a strong leader who crushes all the politicans who do nothing but talk. And if your neighbours were rounded up on trucks never to be seen again, people didn't ask questions.
It was only after the war that people admited that the whole thing was a bit suspicous.

The mg42 still lives on as the mg3 and the Tiger essentially bonded with the DNA of the Panther to make the ultimate tank. America got out of the depression, guided missile invented, jet legitimized, assault rifle, rockets become large scale reality, flying wing, nuclear fission/fusion get attention, etc. BUT when the allies won, Stalin backstabbed everyone and technology was stolen/lost forever.

We were just a lower chess piece in their master plan to get the road block, Germany, out of the way so the USSR could take the rest of the worn out world easier. Actually, even though Germany had the better weapons, soldiers, and technology, they didn't have the industrial power that the U.S. had. If Germany were to have a extremely powerful industry, they would've won. If the U.S. kept neutral through wars end, the Axis powers would've won. But remember we did have bayonet charges during the Korean war, and we HAVE used them today, even one case of a guy in Iraq cutting this enemy up who rushed at him, and the guy (a marine) pulled out a tomahawk and cut the sand bastard up, lol

Even if Germany HAD won the BOB, Britain had the worlds largest Navy at that time which German makeshift wooden BARGES would have to face in the channel during the landing. Germany and Austria were and are two separate countries; this is reality. Romania, Hungary and Italy lost armies fighting alongside the Germans on the Eastern front. Due to attrition in their own numbers, the Germans were happy to have them. In the Wermacht and in the SS there were traitor French, Belgians, Norwegians, Estonians, Latvians, Croatians, Danes and many other nationalities. There were around 350,000 foreign troops in the Waffen SS alone. Germany had plenty of help.

Many German Officers were not satisfied with the Italien Troops. They had not a high moral on the eastern front and a bad equipment. Lookt at stalingrad. Next to the 6th army were a italien ( I think the 8th. army) and a romanien army. It's their fault that the 6th Army was encircled.

The sheer quality of pilots, commanders and machinery vs a lone nation (America) would have lead to a flawless victory. The sole reason the Russians inflicted more casualties was because Hitler hated the Russians more than the Western Allies and Russia was fighting on its own soil. If it was just Germany vs the US, the US would've eventually won. Sure, it would've taken a ton of soldiers, but the strategic location of the US makes any invasion impractical/impossible, and our industry outclassed even the Russians, who's industry beat the Germans. With the Japanese invading the West coast Hitler could have pushed up the Mississipppi effectively cutting the US forces in two. Industry crumbles when cut off from resources. Remember when the British invaded the US (War of 1812) Washington was in flames. Germany had more soldiers at the start, the best top notch elite units of all time and better technology. However, there is no way the Nazis could've effectively defeated the US as well. the UK and USSR maybe, if each were taken on a 1 v 1 scenario because logistics would allow that type of battle, but a US invasion is a logistical nightmare.

With the nightsights, assualt rifles, tanks, and quality of troops the allies didn't have Germany would have cleanly killed off the resistance. It doesn't matter if none of the soldiers were like Audi Murphy. The Nazis do not have the supply lines that are capable of keeping the invasion force going. And that's not even getting into the US's industrial power or the fact that people would be more motivated to fight in the event of a war on their own soil as opposed to a war on the other side of the planet. Face it, Nazi Germany may be good enough to take on the UK and the USSR, and win if it was 1v1, but the US, hell no.

However, if the Nazis succeeded in conquering the UK and the USSR, that'll provide 'em with the resources needed to launch a successful invasion. Full subjugation, probably not. California's fucked, though. I think the invasion would peter out as the Nazis reach the heavily armed Southern and Midwest states, but everything before that is pretty much screwed.
That still assumes you beat the UK and USSR, though.

Sure, by this point, I don't think we'll get any land back, nor will we be able to defeat the Nazi Empire, but we certainly wouldn't starve to death. @gameragodzilla I think the SS would be able to defeat the over glorified SEALS since SEALS operate in small groups and are individual and stealth oriented. A loyalty based army is a lot better tham a bunch of guys only going for the paycheck, up for sale to the highest bidder like so many Wikileaks snitches that would give up sensitive info for selfpreservation. Loyalty means you fight for king and country no matter how hopeless the situation is, complete dedication to the success of a mission.

@scoped98k SEALs are special forces. Special forces focus on small groups of highly trained troops strategetically inserted to cause mayhem for the other side. The Waffen SS functioned more like elite grade troops that kicked ass when the Wehrmacht did not. Still, do you notice Americans? They are VERY loyal to the country. The rest of the world looks at American patriotism with awe and confusion, so I'm not worried about our normal forces being bought out.

So, going back on my original point (because Youtube limits the amount of characters you can type), the Waffen SS and the Navy SEALs fill different roles in battle. Comparing them is like comparing Apples and Oranges. The closest comparison is probably the USMC, because the USMC functions as quick-response, fast moving soldiers who kick ass when the regular Army is bogged down. Anyways, in a shooting war between the US and the "won WW2" Nazi Germany, it'll probably be a stalemate.

Muh REENS as the call them in a very sarcastic tone, are not respected or feared nearly as much. Besides, there is no better feeling than having the men in black backing you up on every step of your own personal global conquest mission. Stg44, Tiger Tank, MP-40, Vampir Nightscope, MG-42 and various other German weapons designs were completely radical for the time, and their operators were extremely brave and courageous in combat, and yes, were extremely loyal to the cause. The bias comes from the fact that the cause doesn't really sit well with most people, so some of the criticisim is deserved. If I called the Waffen SS a group of genocidal thugs, Id be justified doing so, but calling them "cowards", though, is definately NOT.

So, my general opinion of the Waffen SS is this: They were working for an evil cause, and killed many innocent people, but they were still brave in combat and put up a very good fight, taking on three world powers and nearly succeeding. They were tricked out with some of the best gear of WW2, including the first true assault rifle, the best machinegun of WW2, the first night vision, and the best WW2 tank, cementing them as some of history's best villainous badasses.

The Navy vet I know tweaks out every time I call him gay or ask him how many times a day he gets a mast head up his ass, fricken priceless. @gameragodzilla The real kicker was that Hitler was trying to get the Jews out of Germany istead of killing them before the war started but nobody wanted them. So the allies put as much blame as possible on Germany when infact they tried the peaceful safe aproach but no one would take them so they had to go to plan b so the allies are partially at fault for this. Germany had to activate plan B because the world was no help. Kind of like the child that tries to voice an opinion but no 1 listens.

Hitler had a bunch of Waffen SS guys guarding the Concentration Camps. Imagine if those resources were used instead to say build more Stg44s, Tiger Tanks, and MG42s, and send the guards to the Eastern Front. That probably would've kept the Russians from pouring into Berlin in the first place and splitting Germany.

His win is mostly due to luck and Hitlers aformentioned micromanaging. Mao's short-term plan killed millions of innocent Chinese. Hitler's bungling kept him from winning the war, causing the commies to pour into Germany and subject half of the country to several decades of Soviet tyranny. @scoped98k Easy. Russia won, Germany lost. The Red Army wasn't as worse as the Wehrmacht, but at a very close tie for the second place with the Japanese.
The Americans did a really good job at forcing the german people to understand what they had done by letting the wrong people into power, and since then the germans themselves are making great efforts to educate people what really happened. Though for some reason they didn't for the Austrians and Japanese. They still think everything was fine.

Ummmm the western allies tecnically didnt win the war in fact they would had uterly failed the war if it wasnt for the russian victory at Kursk. If the germans won at kursk then normandy would have been backed up with 3 SS divisions of Liebstandatre, Das Reich and Totenkopf which is about 65,000 men. The ocean would have turned red. Also the russians faced the larger part of the german army and reached Berlin first.
