my mother is morbidly obese... she has good blood pressure.,..that doesnt mean she is healthy. Obese is NOT healthy...it is NOT attractive to most ppl...but there are always those with a fetish....they wouldnt be fat if they were fit! lol....what bothers me the most about this movement to say fat is great is that they are victimizing themselves ... GO MEME!!!! People are so focused on loving their body images (fat or otherwise) that they forget about loving what's going on inside their bodies. The argument that obesity standards have changed, therefore science is discredited, is like the Creationist argument--it's anti-science and anti-standards in general. Science constantly changes. Standards constantly change. That doesn't make them any less accurate or any less valuable.

"Obese" is a term that relates to weight. That's all. It doesn't mean fat. It's not a value judgment. It's a scientific term that refers to a standard measurement.

Making an argument that being obese is OK because you are healthy right now is absurd. Its like a smoker saying that it is healthy to smoke because he is healthy right now. Either can simply be refuted with medical science.
