hi PP! im a big fan of yours. i learned my first cooking in my job in a hotel here in makati philippines. but mostly they are italians, french cuisine... etc... but i never learned the filipino recipes until i found your page here. thank you very much! but there is one advise for you. NEVER toss if you are saute-ing esp if there are lots of cooking oil. there are recipes should be cooked by tossing and there are those shouldnt. anyway i hope i helped you a little. i know you are not a pro cook.
I dont bother to to take the bitterness of ampalaya, because i like it the way it is. Although my mother used to do what you did but she used her hands sa pag piga.
masarap to..pero try din ninyo un ampalaya na di na kailangan pigain..kc di na crunchy pag niluto... meron ako gustong ishare sa inyo..kun gusto mo mawala ng konti ang pait ng ampalaya...lagyan mo ng asin at blunch mo sa mainit na tubig for 2 minutes... at pagkatapos alisin sa mainit na tubig , ilagay naman sa yelo /malamig na tubig ang na blunch na ampalaya...pagniluto mo o iginisa ang ampalaya ,crunchy pa rin pag kinain mo at di ganun kapait...di pa nawala ang nutrients nya. salamat po
