The Lindy Hope was created in Charleston S C,by the Jenkins Orphanage children as well as the Charleston, Shag and many more. Dont forget ,white people did not have anything to do with the make up of these dances at all. Just want to make sure we understand that. But Most important is most white people have keep it alive. Just to expland on the clip a little the performers are from Harlem Congaroo Dancers ( aka Whitey's Lindy Hoppers). They are: William Downes (overalls) and Frances "Mickey" Jones (maid), Norma Miller and Billy Ricker (chef's hat), Al Minns (white coat, black pants) and Willa Mae Ricker. Ann Johnson (maid) and Frankie Manning (overalls).

Just so you know - Frankie Manning is alive and well, and at 91 he is still cutting that rug somethin' fierce.
