The main deciding factor for me is maintenance/how long it lasts. I'm sick of having to replace my iPod every year because the hard drive gets disconnected or whatever. How long has your Zune lasted you? I think the longest I've ever had an iPod classic was a little over a year and 3 months. Also, Apple has no repair options. Once it's broken, you're screwed. How is the Zune support? Do they repair any broken items?

i used to have a zune 30gb, till it died. in a massive zune falure on january 1 2008. then i got a replacment for free, it (with a little help of me acedentaly deleting its firmwear)died. now i have a zune 120, it works better and was about the same cost. zune 80 and the zune 120 are wonderful products and i can't complain about the storage. And as for the ipod touch,(i have one too) i find i am constantly having to delete things off of it, and i have to constantly recharge it. Zuns is better.

First off, great display. You covered both products fairly in-depth.

However, you did seem somewhat biased to the Zune. Granted, as you stated, you are more familiar with the Zune. Coming as an iPod Classic user possibly looking to switch over, I got more out of it than if you had favored the iPod. If someone is coming from the Zune and possibly looking to get a Classic, though.... Anyway, like I said, really enjoyed it. Next time, possibly put together alternative software options for each?

i ordered a 120GB zune (second gen) off ebay tonight for christmas, i can honestly say that zune appear to be a lot better than ipods, apart from the battery life. ipods are too overhyped and people say that zunes suck. the reason for this was probably coz the first gen of zune sucked ass and they ll broke but the second gen and third gen both are good.

Zunes are great devices, but when something like the Ipod is already a popular product, it's very hard to kick it out of it's spot.
