@Kakiandnyra99 I think you got the story wrong, he was not part of the armed robbery but on that nighht he was shagging his best friends wife. he did not want his friend finding out so he could not say it as an aliby. so he goes to prison to protect her (his best friends wife). from him finding out cos he loves her.
