  • Heh, this video looks just like something on 120 Minutes circa 1986. Song is wonderful too

  • echo and the bunnymen and coldplay are gonna sue !! (and countless other bands that you sound like....)

  • Великолепная группа и очередная красивая песня в их исполнении!!!!!!!!

  • They're amazing

  • 10/02/2011 nottingham here i come with great anticipation!

  • Listening to this song while studying for my Philology exams. This band surely captures the 'love of words'.

  • @Jur I know three Phils. For a fee I can get you access.

  • Dying's ok. God doesn't exist, but that's simply my opinion.

  • every single i watch this video i find something new, and it fills me with immense euphoria.

  • Just come across this album as a £3 bargain this week. This is soooooo good, music for grown-ups

  • I've just returned from BSP concert - absolutely wonderful, spectacular, outstanding.

    BSP rocks!

  • There's a demo version of this song lying about and it's great.

  • an all time great album, an all time great band

  • BSP are brilliant! So far 'I ve seen them 3 times and they never stop to amaze me!

  • im in love with BSP...i had never heard of them till 2-3 months ago...but now im hooked. :D

  • The images in this video are like something out of a Zoe trope.

  • It's a song about sniffing ether.

  • actually the song's about death and its beauty

-an elegy is a funeral song-

listen to the lyrics and it becomes evident

  • cant get enough of bsp. at last a band that takes us away from the mundane 'pop idol' pish!

  • Just got into BSP in the last 12 months and they are class

  • i accidentally gave the video one star...but really its amazing

  • The cine-style camera work, the locations, the style, the homemade feel, the stage props, the sentiment, the atmosphere. BSP have def taken a leaf out of the Bunnymen's book. Which is good for all of us.

  • Wow, that's a great song. Apparently my 50-plus, '60s-pop-fan self has been missing a lot of good music lately ...

  • This was the first BSP song i heard thought it was pretty good liking the guitar riffs

he has a bowie style voice quite talented to do that tbh

  • I always strive to look "elegantly bored", and it all started with this song.

  • Sometimes I hate living in New Zealand. British Sea Power is so good.

  • Man i adore this video, i know i've already commented, i just had to say it again.

  • They were so good at Reading, though suffered from the stupid speakers and why did they not perform this? It was still a five * show though.

  • A song that tells of elegiac stanzas is a fuckin tune. what a fuckin' TUNE.

  • The video reminds me of the one for Debaser.

  • Goin' to see these guys in May. At $12 a ticket! Best concert ticket bargain I've seen in awhile.

    British rock rules!

  • You are in for the gig of your life!

It might not seem like it, but they are mental live

  • strong rumours they're playing at reading festival in august. probably in 1 of the tents but i still think i'll go n see them. depends if i have a clash or not. i'll try my best though. could u send me a link of 1 of their live performances?

  • Mainstage baby!!

  • Mainstage?! Are you actually having a laugh?!

    Fucking hell I'm so there

  • me too! i kinda wish they were playing in one of the tents though, a tent packed with BSP fans would be awesome but hopefully there will be a good turnout of BSP fans at the front for their mainstage performance!

  • Have to admire them for keeping going, looks like this will be their breakthrough year. They're gonna be huge.

  • this is a fantastic song from an absolutely stellar band. can't wait for the new album next week!

  • Great song, great band.

    Long live BSP!

  • If you're from Amsterdam and happen to like UK music, BSP is absolutely lip smacking wonderful. They've apologised for the short slumber, but will be back in full force in Feb. Yes!!!

  • Is that Brighton's West Pier in the video!!! lol

  • Well, BSP are from Brighton so it probably is.

  • and jimmy carr seems to play guitar for em

  • good band, bit behind on the rent though

  • A true British gem.

  • Why all the music videos on youtube are "the best group"?

  • Absolutely amazing. Their first album is nothing short of brilliance.

  • so far all of the indie rock bands i know of are british. Im not going to jump to any conclusions but would it be accurate for me to guess that indie is a british style?

  • Indie is defined by independence from big commercial labels & autonomous, do-it-yourself sensibility to recording, publishing, live performing. An early Indy/Alt label is Seattle`s Sub Pop (Nirvana, The Shins). In the UK Indie is synonymous with Alt. Bands care more about self-expression/promotion (as on MySpace) than commercial

gain (Wilco streams online pre-release) & most have an internationalist outlook (Sub Pop backs foreign Indy bands/bands will promote each other). Indie is worldwide.

  • Velvet Underground (US, mid 1960s) is considered the first Indie band, In the US Indie dates back to the 1970s (Hüsker Dü, Sonic Youth), and in the UK back to the 1980s (Aztec Camera, Orange Juice), Before it became "mainstream", Grunge was an Indie form, as was Riot Grrl and Twee Pop. Today Post-Punk and Garage Rock revivals are Indie music forms,

  • well thank you. It seemed unlikely that the coincidence with british artists and indie rock was very legitimate but im the kind of guy that has to find these things out. I appreciate your response :D

  • You are welcome :D And, I am the same kind of gal...gotta know! For a better explanation than mine, search "indie rock" on wikipedia. What I should have said was: "in the traditional sense of the word, indie rock is not a 'genre', but rather a status (see wiki)." BTW, did I say I LOVE British Sea Power?

  • haha well again i appreciate your help, thanks. And i must say British Sea Power is the best indie rock band ever!

  • if you like this, try Spoon, from Austin, Texas.

  • spoon's pretty underated too

  • woop saw these last night, were great :)

  • Why is this band not more well known ??.They are far`superior to many who command the top selling charts!

  • one of the best british bands of the moments, and they're not that many!

  • ahhh i like it !

  • great band... not appreciated enough!

  • Superb...many thanks!

  • The best thing ever to come out of Kendal!! :D

  • One of the few modern bands out there with compelling material. This song is fantastic.

  • truly wonderful
