I'm afraid I can't really comment on how VS is now. If it is true..it's sad. I was raised in valley stream and lived there till I was 29. I then left and went to Charleston ,South Carolina.

I love Valley Stream the green acres mall the multiplex there the best, I grew up in Laurelton and my best friend lived in Rosedale, and I love five towns where the 7 11 is they have the best hot dogs and slupees, I love those 4 towns / communities Valley Stream, Five Towns, Laurelton, and Rosedale.

It's not that I want diverse or homogenous, I don't care. You talk about a murder, and I see two people that committed murder. I don't care that they were hispanic. If the town has gone downhill economically or socially, I don't blame it on races, I blame it on people and individuals, and I think when people talk about minorities ruining their town, they just want a clear scapegoat, a group to blame things on. And that becomes generalized, and makes racial tensions worse.

As a white person who lives in Valley Stream (and I have for my whole life), I'm glad people like you are gone. I'd rather have a diverse neighborhood than a bunch of racists any day. People have the right to live wherever they like, and nobody has the right to tell them not to. Everyone seems so angry because the culture has changed. Well, thing change, and you can run for your whole life or accept that your future will involve eventually living with people who aren't white.

I grew up in Valley Stream in from the 50's to the mid seventies.....it's prime! Martin Luther King called it "Lilly White Valley Stream" in one of his speeches.

I'm afraid I can't really comment on how VS is now. If it is true..it's sad. I was raised in valley stream and lived there till I was 29. I then left and went to Charleston ,South Carolina.
What's been even more off the wall is that people who swore to me up and down "Pete..I'll never leave this town and let it be overrun by n-----s" eventually sold their houses.

Scan is something you do to pictures of you and your mother when you graduate high school. I suggest you try and do that and you will learn that a movement from side to side is called a pan. On that note, everyone reads English from left to right,not most; so much for Valley Stream youth.
