I'm thinking they should've used line dancing to push the tight jeans that Dwight usually wore, if anything! Love the song and dancing, but using it to push the wrong item I think..
i used to work at the gap when these commercials came out(country, go go, etc) fall and holiday Gap commercials used to be so fun and creative. not so much now
Great commercial. Fits right in with all the other dance commrecials Gap put out. Simple message..buy khakis and have fun dancing in them..whatever kind you do..swing, country, whatever.
sorry, but this is a shit commercial. on another note, whoever says this is creative is...not very smart. i wouldnt call people dancing = creative commercial. we've got great commercials these days; old spice, and Apple are some of them.
I miss Gap's old ads like these. The Manikin ad campaigns just aren't as good as these. They used to be the greatest commercials ever, especially during the holidays.
This commercial made me go out and buy khaki pants and a skirt from the gap. It was very influential being that I am black and black girls was not into khaki then!!!!!
anyone remembers the Gap ads that took scenes from Westside story? I remember there being two; one reworking 'America', and the other(a gap jeans ad) reworking 'Keep it cool'. A friend of mine says it wasn't Gap that did those ads, but I could have sworn it was. Am I wrong?
Yeah, I remember those. Gap did those ads. There were three of them: one had "America", one had "Play it cool", and one had the "Mambo" dance off. Hope this helps.
Thank you. I knew I was right. although I got the title wrong(duh on my part). I finally found the 'Play it cool' ad here on youtube. I'm happy I found that one! :)
It's funny how these clothes in this commercial were considered hip during it's original airdate. Now it's the dress of out-of shape (and work)IT personnel.
khakis suck because of the splashback from the urinal. ya'll know what i'm talking about. and we can't stand from the urinal because other guys might wanna look at our junk. i'm just sayin...
