  • yeah but for some reason ppl think that airforce, navy, and coast guard have a easy bootcamp or something. i honestly thought that airforce had the easiest one until i experienced it for myself lol

  • oh, thanks.

  • 1:09 what? they send you back home if your late?

  • @lazarra101 nahhh, i just meant late at night. like arrive at boot camp at 11pm it will be a lot harder off for you cuz they keep you up all night, opposed to if you arrive in the afternoon, where i hear you get to sleep that night. it depends on how many people arrive thoughtout the day, cuz they need a certin amount of people to fill the bus.

  • y u high

  • The Navy bootcamp is only 8 weeks? I thought it was 12

  • @XRubixCube negitive ghostrider, it is only 8 weeks long. flys by too.

  • your size is doesn't matter, everyone is the same, the guy who weights 200 and 6'3" will just be suffering as bad as you trust m. you will only swim one in boot camp, and if you don't pass your swim qual, you are a fucking idiot. it is so easy. jump off a 10 into water, swim 50 yds, and stay afloat for 5 min. really easy. the hardest part for me was the first night. they keep you up all night and the next day, no sleep. yelling at you. get through the first night, you will get through boot camp.

  • So ill be joining the navy real soon how hard was boot camp i would say im a pretty good swimmer but im small guy only weigh 130lbs u think that will effect the way i go through boot camp?

  • My boyfriend is in Great Lakes for Basic right now,

this video really helped me understand what he's doing while he's there.

  • @TheUnscriptedTimes anytime.... be sure to write him EVERY day. letters are gold in boot camp. i have never been so excited to get a letter until i went to boot camp. just tell him about the positive things in you day, tell him how much you have been thinking of him and miss him. it is little things like that will really brighten his day. NOTHING NEGATIVE, he is dealing with enough negative bullshit. Always keep it positive. Hope this also helps...

  • @runner20sander

Oh trust me , I def. write EVERYDAY! He's been gone since november 15th & I started writing before he left. I sent a couple letters with him when I said my goodbye at MEPS. I've sent two everyday (same envelope) , Sometimes only one , sometimes more. Just depends on how busy my day was. Lol.

Thank you sooo much! I can't wait to see him.

With the adopt a sailor program for christmas... I also get to see him on christmas , then again for his graduation , January 14th! ((:

  • hey man what exactly should i do before leaving to boot camp to get ranked up before. And what can i do to be more then just a recruite like a yoamen or what ever eles there is?

what do i need to do to basicly get ranked EITHER before or during bootcamp.Whats the easyest ways to get ranked up while in bootcamp. What jobs?

  • @ZachAhhLack65 if you get a few people you know to join at your dep station you can get advanced that way. i think it is for every 2 people you get to join its one paygrade. e-1 to e-2. but you can only go to boot camp as an e-3, so don't think oh yeah i get 12 people to join i am going to be an e-6. there is a test your recruiters give you, and if you pass it, it will be in your records that you past it, and they will give you another test at boot camp. then you have to pass your first pfa

  • @ZachAhhLack65 there are 6 jobs you can get in your division that are like the jobs that if you do a good job, you will get advance. i will put them in order of there inportance RPOC(leader), AROC(ass. leader), Master at arms(dick), Yeoman(paperwork), Starbord Watch and Port Watch(watchbill). but you can have any job in your division, and have a chance at getting advanced. like i said in my video, i was the athletic petty officer, just said the stretchs, did a good job at it, and i got advance.

  • I keep hearing people talk about A school. What is A school and how long is it? I am a mother of three children and I have a husband. I am seriously considering the US NAVY. Im not much worried about the PT, I know it will be a little hard but I feel like it is nothing I cant handle. Im just mainly worried about the amount of time I have to be away from my family!

  • @24jcbrown It all depends on your rate. If you are in a school for a long period of time (over 8 months), then yes they will let you move your family to wherever your a school is. but if your a school was short like mine was, only 3 months, they will make you wait. but whenever you get to the fleet (norfolk, san diego), they are a lot more accomidating, and will work with you to try to arrange away to get your family to your base as quickly as possible. Hope this helps...

  • @24jcbrown trust me. i been in navy boot camp n its not worth it

  • @spncrbutters whats not worth it?

  • @hfflpffchaser55 going into any part of the military, pretty much

  • @spncrbutters soooooooooooooooo not true dude. yes there are some parts of the military that are pretty dumb, but in the end it is worth it. Right now for me it is just like a normal job at the age of 19. i go to work at 7, and i am done by 3 everyday. i really like it, and i think it is kinda funny how you say its not worth it, your whole family is proud of you, and you have a steady pay check with nice benefits. that is my take on it............

  • @24jcbrown I think you have too many dependents to join. In the Marines, you're only allowed two. So I assume four is just out of the question for the Navy.

  • navy boot camp is a joke it made kind think of the navy as high school theres even a math and english class lmao

  • So what do they do as far as medical exams go when you get there? I know you get shots and everything but what else?

  • @maniacchris at meps they are going to make you take off your draws, but they will not do that at great lakes. But aside from that they are going to look at you inside and out, up and down. eye exam, hearing test and look inside your ears, dentist, a fucking thing that swivels around your head and take a 360 degree picture of your skull. this will all be done your first week at boot camp, and the worst part is waiting, you wait all the time. if you have any more question feel free to ask.

  • @runner20sander I've already been to MEPS, I ship 20110308, I've heard alot of people are getting sent home from bootcamp because they needed waivers at MEPS, and I'm just paranoid I'm gonna get sent home for something trivial.

  • @maniacchris Don't be paranoid about dumb shit, the odds that your recruiters or meps missed something now, while you are in dep, and catch it while your at great lakes isn't very good. As long as your recruiters says your good, your good. And if they do find something, its not like, "YOU LIED, your out and you going home." and i'm not saying you lied, but they will help you out, and it will only be a last resort to send you home. If they did that to everyone they wouldn't have a navy.

  • @runner20sander haha gotchya, thanks man.

  • @maniacchris anytime bro, take it easy, keep it real. any more questions don't hesitate to ask.

  • @runner20sander Hmm well the only other thing I'm really concerned about is making my rack. I can't fold hospital corners for the life of me. Oh yeah and also I heard everyone has to be able to run the mile and a half in under 12 minutes regardless of age, is that true?

  • @maniacchris don't worry about making your rake, you will catch on very quickly. your rdc will teach you like you are 5 years old how to do it. and its not that hard anyways, still having trouble, ask someone who rack is really close to you help you, trust me, they will. And everyone doesn't have to. your rdcs are going to say you have to, just to make them look better. haha not joking. you have to run it in under 1230 if you are under 20. and it goes up for different ages. dont worry bout it.

  • @runner20sander thanks you've been very helpful.

  • what about PRT? how diverse was each recruit in terms of being in shape?

  • @endsequence you have roughly 80 people in your division, and trust me, you will have all kinds of people in you division in terms of "being in shape." You will have tall, fat, short, skinny. and the prt, is diversified by age, not being in shape. I forget the exact numbers, but i think if you are under the age of 20, you have to be able to run a mile and a half in 12:15, 54 push ups, and 72 crunch ups. which by the time you final pfa comes, you will be able to do all that plus some more.

  • Good info. Can you elaborate a little on what the PT is like? Is there ALOT of running?

  • @1984chupacabra They make it relatively easy for everyone. you get there, do a couple of stretches, and agility shit. then some days you might, just run. The most i ran while i was at boot camp at one time, was i think, maybe 30 minutes at once. And they build you up to that little by little. but if you are not in shape... don't worry about it, they expect you to be out of shape not matter what.
