You no what, I'm terribly sorry if I overreacted. I understand why you lot are protesting and I have mixed thoughts about the 3rd runway. I'm really sorry if I have offended anyone especially calvinjones.
You havent even made a case. You have just made some statements of fact and expressed a personal opinion. I personally disagree with you, and in the future please try not to use random phrases that youve heard on the TV!
Well you should "give a bugger", it's your world too. If big companies realise that they can get away with kicking people out of their homes and forcibly grab the land, what's to stop them doing it elsewhere? It could be you facing this sort of predicament one day.
Just the thought nauseates me, as this just goes to show our system of government has hardly moved on at all from feudalism.
Firstly in times of recession we need less airport capacity not more. Secondly, the UK citizens spend more abroad than tourists spend hear. Thirdly, thousands of people are being forcibly removed from their homes. If airpoty expansion was needed then it should be elsewhere. Finally, the economy is a subsystem of the environment, if we increase unsustainable practices like expanding aviation it will cost us all more in the end. We dont need an ecological bubble to burst as well as a finance one!
