It is very hard for me to comment in this case personally as I have been eating octopus since a child. Creatures have been made for our sustenance, the only emotions we give to are for those we hold as for our pets and the respect of course. @frappucci When butchers kill animals, they usually put a bullet in the animal's head to kill it instantly, or something else of that sort. Your right, there is nothing wrong with eating animals, but do so in respect to the animal you are eating. Don't just put it on a cutting board and let it stew in pain before killing it. I doubt being out of water for any period of time is comfortable for an aquatic animal. It seems cruel to do this just for the sake of the color of sushi your serving.

It is very hard for me to comment in this case personally as I have been eating octopus since a child. Creatures have been made for our sustenance, the only emotions we give to are for those we hold as for our pets and the respect of course. Everything is hunted fast or slow and wether or not it has a long span does not depend on the hunter but GOD. What was unclean in the past is no longer that now, all the rules changes to accomodate US FLOUNDERS!

But face the fact: any meet you buy, the the animal or fish of it never died naturally. It was terminated by someone else for you, or it was let die... like fish leaving on land for a while or frozen alive.
Any flesh-eating animal kills other animal or scavenge to survive, it is rather natural I am guessing, but if you don't like it you can be a vegetarian.

Supporting cruel captivity is last thing I wanna do. Now, eating which one is cruel and which one is not? Many stays unclear on it, while some are known very cruel like shark fins-sharks often are cut out their fin on a boat and let go only to be dead (some kind of shark can't even breathe without keeping swimming).
I don't know if this octopus was cultivated. I did not torture it to die though I took few seconds to take video before cooking it. Every life suffers when it dies, even trees.
