  • why was rocca not allowed a drop on 17?

  • 'The Open' not the British Open. Remember who created the sport

  • Magic.

  • Thumbs up if you think Musberger had an orgasm when Rocca's putt went in.

  • Nice mullet

  • every time i watch roccas shot from the road i feel as if he double clicked it

  • Type PRIZE before youtube and hit enter

  • Fenomenale Costantino!

  • well john after yesterdays round back at st andrews you are in the mix once again, watched this great moment as it unfolded from the edinburgh woollen mill which overlooks the 18 green. a very popular winner

  • john make it out of bunker, rocca cant.

  • at :50 that was an OUTSTANDING out...i've seen guys in that bunker putt the ball from that lie just so they'd have a chance of getting it out. that was amazing

  • the look on dalys face is priceless as the putt goes in, my lifelong sporting highlight is roccas up n down

  • oh the glory days of John!! but i have a feeling that he will have an amazing tournament win, hopfuly a tour!! that would be awesome for john!!

  • hey theblackdelorian if u can drive it 500 then u should do the long drive contest cuz they only drive 400 yards occasionally. so ya u should do that, unless u r stretching the truth a bit . which i bet u r.

  • yeah i do apologise, i was stretching the truth a bit far as in 300 yards far haha, i can barely make 200 in all honesty but on that odd occasion il catch it sweet and make 250 :)

  • Who is the announcer making the "Yes! Yes! Rocca has done it!" call?

  • @danglesaucemusta Brent Musburger. He doesn't do The Open anymore.

  • its simple - the further you hit the better the golfer you are, when i go to the driving range i only take 1 club, thats right - THE DRIVER and i can hit it 500 yards every time (wind assisted...terms and conditions apply)

  • you know nothing about golf then. drive for show, putt for dough. golf is not about how far u hit the ball. there is other elements of the game.

  • If you're being sarcastic then i like what you're saying. If not, god have mercy on your soul.

  • If a sober John Daly had played in The Ryder Cup of 1995 or 1997 maybe the Americans would have won these competitions. Maybe even a drunk Daly could have contributed something in 1995 (joking). Well he was the Champion golfer of the year and didn't play the Ryder Cup!

  • jon's too cool to just golf...

  • honestly people should have their facts straight before they just post comments

  • for a

25 year old Daly to handle the pressure and win like that on the Brits own course is nothing short of amazing. Imagine had JD stayed sober? He would of won many many more majors.

  • He was 29 in 1995.

  • If JD had practiced as much or took up golf before 12, and was sober all the time, he would of won a dozen or more majors. Wasted talent.

  • He started at age 4

  • if you're auntie had balls she'd have been your uncle

  • roccas shot on the 18th was a truly great sporting moment

  • that shot of Roccas was on 18 was amazing especially after the flubbed chip remember watching, almost woke up everyone in our unit block screaming and scared the crap out of my boyfriend.

    Thanks for posting

  • Not sure how accurate the sound is, but it sure sounded like Rocca double-hit the road shot.

  • First sound is club hitting ball

Second sound is club hitting road

  • Aw man I want to see young Daly swing footage.

  • Rocca's shot off the road only lands in the grass in front of him but it rolls close to the hole.

  • Its called Golf, links Golf at St Andrews.Thats why its so different from American style Golf and why not many Americans come over to play in it.

  • Rocca grounded his club in the bunker at 1:56

  • Oh well, it didn't make much difference in the end!

  • haha what the fuck are you on about majestic, you sound very bitter you never made it at golf and someone like Daly did.

270 with a driver in 77, pretty standard. Yawn!

  • i believe that i have talent, but i dont have any coach or anything!...all a true star needs is a golf set and a golf course!...seve ballesteros made up his whole swing, only reading books!.i dont have any PROGRAM either,i live in ireland, i dont have scouts watching me, i wont blame other people if i fail

  • you are so jealous of john daly!..your the typical guy who didnt make it and is blaming other people for it! what about the people like vijay singh! he came to america with nothing, playing with coconuts in fiji!...your an asshole man!

  • He still plays Sr tournaments. He also played the Italian Open this year, but missed the cut.

I met him at a charity lottery after a golf match (he created charity organisation called "A birdie for life") and he's really a nice and positive person.

  • Never forget that he did hole in one at Augusta during Ryder Cup

  • Wish Rocca wins

  • isn't it costantino rocca?

  • nice bunker shot daly 0:57

  • On the American ABC telly that shot looked impossible. The telly cameras make golf look crazy in America. 190 yards isn't crap to the human eye, but the telly cameras make it look like damn near 300 yards.

In the America telly it looked like there was a 12 foot vertical wall of sod in front of John Daly, LOL!

By the way, that woman with Daly is Paulette #2 wife that totally screwed his mind over, and he's never been the same after her.

  • COuld you elaborate on that please?

  • Elaborate on what?

Go to my messenger here and we'll

laugh all we want about how Daly hasn't

seen his weenie in 9 years.

As for the television view of golf the way

America shoots it, it's true. You walk off 150 yards, then look back at a stick you'd stuck in the ground, and I'm tellin' ya it's NOT that far away looking (1 1/2 American football fields, not counting end zones.). But tv cameras back things up for some reason.

  • Im not disagreeing with you but I dont understand why Daly had a good run in the early 90's and then has fallen off the map.

  • John Daly is an uninspired nut case. He chokes and tanks during every other or third round these days.

For John golf is his way of not having to work

and skating through life as a bum with just enough cash to get stoned.

People keep paying him to endorse stuff and giving him money for appearance fees, and he's happy with that.

Give John Daly a tank of gas in his tour bus

and a carton of cigarettes and a refrigerator full of beer and he's happy.

Women ACTUALLY stand in line to suck him off!

  • Haha, why does this personally offend you so much?

  • Because Daly is an asshole that threw it all away.

I had some pretty good raw golf ability back in 1977 (Jr. in High School), but I got no encouragement and had no programs available to me. The fuck-ass coach blew me off and told me to practice basketball.

Shit I was hitting a wooden persimmon #1 wood 270 yards on the fly back then, and the guys that made the team were pussies that could only hit it 220 yards with roll.

  • yeah, you are the typical golfer who talks about how good you are and how far you can hit it..the problem is guys like you never show up and post a good scored. good players don't have to talk about how far they hit it

  • let me guess you now hit the ball 400 yards consistently down the middle of the fairway and STILL can't break 100. lol

  • Poor old Rocca,

After the duff then holing that putt...He asked for some time to compose himself before the playoff, guess it wasn't enough!

John Daly brilliant example of how vises can ruin your life.

  • I wish Rocca won.

  • I remember that Open well, but I had forgotten that Rocca played the brilliant shot off the road in regulation, then was done in by the bunker in the playoff. The Road Hole giveth and the Road Hole taketh away, I guess.

  • how can you remember this Open but forget Rocca's road shot?

  • which wife was that i cant tell

  • Hehe. That's terrible.

  • plus he was bombed when he won this

  • he was drinking lots of diet coke then. or so he said.

    not drunk.

tell me if i am wrong

  • John Daly is still the legend of US golf.

  • I borned that year

  • Another episode of injustice in the game of golf. That Open belongs to Rocca.

  • are you kidding john daly is amazing he is one of the most talented guys in the game he can not play a round for a year and come out in a tourny and shoot 68. Who is constantino rocca by the way? exactly

  • Rocca is probably the most successful golfer ever to come from Italy. had lots of success on the European tour. his best finishes in majors was 2nd in this tourney and he was in the final pairing with Tiger when Tiger won his first Masters....finishing in 5th.

  • it belongs to whoever has the least shots...

  • I have the original Rocca's golf bag of british open 1995

  • One of my fav sports moments. Awesome playoff...for John.

  • oh Brent Musburger!

  • i liked rocca's chip off the concrete path

  • that has to be one of the luckiest shots in golf history

  • It's called the road, as in The Road Hole.

  • John Daly everyone
