Dziga Vertov was a man years ahead of his time who made movies despite persecution and despite going against the tide of most soviet filmmakers of the time. IMHO a much better subject for Hugo than Melias.

Anybody could explain what's the marxist part that Vertov wanted to show in this movie ?

The only problem here is that the music lags behind the video quite a bit, which makes everything feel a bit off.

amazing film though the version with Cinematic Orchestra soundtrack somewhat works better for me.
