"Ringo" fans.... In honor of Ringo's 70th, I hope U will check out my "RINGO"video. It's very retro with Beatleish touches & was done as a labor of love and with the utmost respect for the Fabs. My attempt at putting a little bit of the Beatle spirit out there for Beatle fans. It's also my tribute to George Harrison's slide playing as well as Ringo's unique style.
Maybe you thought that I said that because of my spanish. In fact, I was defending George from the stupid theories of CubanCheGuevara. I think we are not disagree after all, at least no at all. Sorry for my bad englisg too jaja.
Pero solo apra darte el gusto : Do you think that "Here comes the sun" sounds awkward?
Acaso "I me mine", "I need you", "Beware of darkness", "i me mine", "Something", "Art of Dying", "Let it down", "Dark Horse", "Give me love", "Who can see it" o la increíble "While my guitar gently weeps", por solo mencionar algunas, te parecen copias de otras canciones, como para que a tu pequeño cerebro se le ocurra producir una oración como "He tried so hard to match John and Paul's output, that he just succeeded in looking and sounded awkward. Poor George."?. Poor CubanCheGuevara.
@Caftho7 come on now how can you even think lennon or mccartney had better technical ability that harrison maybe they wrote more commercial songs for the masses but for ability compered to harrison they were amatuers he might sound awkward ,these recordings are his 1st attempt of coming out of the shadows of 2 celebrated so called master song writers i think your views are deluded but we shall agree to disagree
Well, I've never said that Lennon & McCartney were better than George. I just don't know, cause, for me, all of them (including Ringo) were genious, I mean, what about the drums in A day In The Life? The Beatles's the greatest band in all the history of popular music, and not just because the rolling stones magazine said it.I'm sorry if I wasn't clear at all. I'm agree with you when you say that Lennon & McCartney wrote more commercial songs but u can't deny their extraordinary technical ability.
@stonedinsect I'm a Lennon/Harrison guy myself, but to deny that McCartney was the most universally talented with regards to musicianship is to be mistaken, I think. He was able to perform, and perform at a high level on more instruments than his bandmates (see what Geoff Emerick has to say about this).
With that said, I prefer Lennon and Harrison's songs and I think they wrote more impressive, memorable music from ~1968 and on.
George was also sued for PLAGIARIZING this song. However, because of the "My Sweet Lord" disaster, he settled this out of court right away. Poor george. He tried so hard to match John and Paul's output, that he just succeeded in looking and sounded awkward. Poor George.
LODGE4444 - "My Sweet Lord" was not the LAST time he had problems with PLAGIARISM allegations. In his solo career, George was sued no less than 4 times, including his famous lawsuit with Bright Tunes/ Chiffons. He had been told, several times, that he should "SETTLE" out-of-court with Bright Tunes to which he refused. His pride cost him millions. Later, he was sued by the Lennon estate and Yoko Ono for plagiarizing "Beautiful Boy" to make "Beautiful Girl". George settled with Yoko out of court.
it wasn't this song. It was "My sweet lord", which was supposedly a rip-off of "he's so fine", a "great hit" by the chiffons. I dont get what everyone was angry about; george was oviously way better than them
A good source for information on George's songs(pre-1980) is his book, "I Me Mine". He talks about wherer the songs came from and how they got writted - which in George's case was often the same thing. Very funny and sweet stuff between those covers.
@stonedinsect He did smoke allot. He died from throat cancer. Thanks for uploading this. I really love this song. Shall George be remembered forever, and always.
I do like the final version but based on this demo I think it could have been a classic rather than just another song on the album. Great melody. I know if the Beatles worked on it together they would have turned it into something amazing.
because i never had the chance to see john or george live, i'm only born 1993...and i'm girl that lives in germany, so i cant go to one of paul or ringos concerts in england or america...
cmon dude its not that hard to find it comes from the cd beware of abkco if you want a link where you can get it as well as many other bootleg cds i can give you a link.
Thanks for the reply Ginger. I thought I was the only one. I like listening to the song and look into Georges eyes at the same time. There's something mesmerizing about his eyes, I just love it.
Sorry, it cut out on me, as I was saying. All of the Beatles were wonderful in their own right, but there's something special to me about George. Thanks for the sound demo :)
When a song is good, from the first moments of its adjustment it generally gives samples of it. This he is demo that gives sample of it. Beautiful song, this is true melody.
