I respect tim's views on public unions, but collective bargaining isn't a natural right, it's given to the public unions by the state, and the state can take it away if they abuse it, and it looks like they have.

However, I am forced to pay property taxes or I get my house taken from me by force - that's extortion when anyone else does that. The fact that teachers live off extorted money makes them parasites - pure and simple.
If they want to be teachers, they should work at private schools where people voluntarily pay them.
