@Gearistic Cool idea, but it's just a rumor.  The Transporter and Collateral had different producers. The director says in the commentary that Statham's role is to establish that Vincent's work involves people from all over the world.

@iknowwhereyoulive006 Statham couldn't play that role better than Cruise. This role demanded character depth and putting a cliche macho-man to perform it would be devastating!! Don't take me wrong. I love Statham as an actor!! I have seen every movie he has taken part in, but he lacked the finesse for this role. And to play the assassin you don't have to look tough but ruthless and coldblooded. And to conclude, I also found the grey hair an amazing choice.

It would have been more cooler that have Statham appear more in the movie. Maybe as another contract killer like Cruise's character or a government agent going after Cruise's character. The movie was still great even with this small cameo by Statham.
