Ma'am, Sir... It is just good manners. Southerners are generally taught good manners at home, but the media is trying hard to destroy the traditional values.
Ironic: The same homes that teach the kids, sir and ma'am, can sometimes also be where the principles of what is right and wrong lead the same people to be opposed to all things gay. Perhaps if the gays would recognize that good manners and politeness are the way to demonstrate that they are not much of a threat to the community...
