if you bought an 85 or newer sentra and only had a driver's side mirror- somebody ripped the other one off. they were port-installed on the jap cars so they couldn't hit the left-side mirrors when they lined them up on the ship, and often they would get to the dealership with the still-boxed right-side mirror missing. been there done that.
Is this an '85 or '86 model shown? I thought 1985 cars all had sealed beam headlights and then for '86 almost every manufacturer remodeled their cars with new smoother front ends, such as the Sentra shown here. Love the commercials from the mid 1980s, makes me feel old but I remember these times fondly! Keep 'em coming!
@RoadCone411 I recall the headlamps often were to do with the specification level with this car - here in New Zealand this generation of Sunny (aka Sentra) had recessed headlamps for the lower spec models, whereas the high spec models had the flush headlamps as shown here.
One of the best cars that is popular for as far as I remember The Rio Grand Valley of TX had a bunch of them all over there streets. The people were in demand to own one and they still are becuase of the quality and the gas milleage.
I bought a base model 1990 Sentra brand new, and it didn't have a passenger side mirror. It just had a black plastic trim piece that said "Nissan" on it. I had to get a mirror from a Sentra XE at the junkyard!
@cmccarthy A lot of cars back then didn't have mirrors on the passenger/right side of the car. They were just on the driver/left side. I had an 83 Sentra and it was a great little car.
@jakesaintsrow123 Mine wasn't new. It was probably 10+ years old and had over 100,000 miles on it when I bought it. But it ran great and everything worked! The two Fords I had before this car were crap by comparison.

I am driving a Sentra B14 too, Im a nissan head. But I cannot denied, this B11 is a shit ugly car..
I feel sorry if u driving this or u like to fight up for this car, in TopGear....Hammond burnt this scrap with a rocket-powered dragster and it was a great compliment.....
This is 2009, not 1985 ! LoL....Get over with it dude !
Same Here...i Have a 1985 buick skylark....LOVE It...80s had some AWESOME Designs.... My dad just bought a new car but still says..if he didn't have that he would be driving my 85 buick since he likes to drive it just as much...80s were truly Great years.....Why can't they make cars today like these??? They just look so.....COOL!!
I bought my first car when I was 20 years old in 2000. It was a Sentra 1984 Gray... fantastic! Like the one in the video, It had only Driver mirror, no passenger mirror too! Three years after I had an accident, nothing serious. I decided to sell the old Sentra '84. One weeek after that, I bought a new car... a Nissan Sentra 1985!!! It with Driver mirror! This is my actual car, really I love it!!! Economic, powerfull, no problems with parts, no problem with motor! Excellent!
Nissan is Japanese owned, and in a partnership with Renault in France. There is no American ownership. And yes, Nissan was pronounced in the video just the way it's pronounced in Japan. I live in Japan. I know Nissan employees.
My first Nissan was a 1983 Nissan/Datsun Sentra - white two door that I bought with over 100,000 miles on it. Manual steering. I LOVED that car. Sold me on Nissan. I've had a 93 Sentra, 95 Altima and a 2000 Altima since. Still got that 2000 Altima with over 127,000 miles on it and running like new. But sometimes I wish I still had that 83 Sentra!
We had a brown 2 doors 1985 model and we gave it to a person we know and the car last until last year (2007). If now-a-days car could last that long.....
this Nissan Sunny is mexican no japanese

wrong. by 1985, all US-spec vehicles came with dual outside mirrors as standard equipment.
swimmerB0B 1 month ago
the 1985 sentra was the first sentra to have to have the stylized composite head lamp.

My father had a 1984 (essentially the same). It ran great until the timing belt broke...but that was probably his fault.
And hey, if I'm not mistaken, some GM's STILL use pushrod engines, so the "overhead cam" design was "futuristic."
