  • this Nissan Sunny is mexican no japanese

  • i'm sorry 5/85 and on, so that would begin in 1986 for the right side mirrors in the US.

  • if you bought an 85 or newer sentra and only had a driver's side mirror- somebody ripped the other one off. they were port-installed on the jap cars so they couldn't hit the left-side mirrors when they lined them up on the ship, and often they would get to the dealership with the still-boxed right-side mirror missing. been there done that.

  • wrong. by 1985, all US-spec vehicles came with dual outside mirrors as standard equipment.

  • the 1985 sentra was the first sentra to have to have the stylized composite head lamp.

  • My father had a 1984 (essentially the same). It ran great until the timing belt broke...but that was probably his fault.

And hey, if I'm not mistaken, some GM's STILL use pushrod engines, so the "overhead cam" design was "futuristic."

  • Is this an '85 or '86 model shown? I thought 1985 cars all had sealed beam headlights and then for '86 almost every manufacturer remodeled their cars with new smoother front ends, such as the Sentra shown here. Love the commercials from the mid 1980s, makes me feel old but I remember these times fondly! Keep 'em coming!

  • @RoadCone411 I recall the headlamps often were to do with the specification level with this car - here in New Zealand this generation of Sunny (aka Sentra) had recessed headlamps for the lower spec models, whereas the high spec models had the flush headlamps as shown here.

  • hah he say carburator

  • One of the best cars that is popular for as far as I remember The Rio Grand Valley of TX had a bunch of them all over there streets. The people were in demand to own one and they still are becuase of the quality and the gas milleage.

  • This was the Nissan Sunny in UK

  • "it has computer-controlled carburetion..." how futuristic... lol

  • I want this music on my iPod

  • my aunt got this car when she came to america, same year. i dream of this car

  • so that comerccial is so old

  • I bought a base model 1990 Sentra brand new, and it didn't have a passenger side mirror. It just had a black plastic trim piece that said "Nissan" on it. I had to get a mirror from a Sentra XE at the junkyard!

  • @cmccarthy A lot of cars back then didn't have mirrors on the passenger/right side of the car. They were just on the driver/left side. I had an 83 Sentra and it was a great little car.

  • Hey was your 83 sentra New?

  • @jakesaintsrow123 Mine wasn't new. It was probably 10+ years old and had over 100,000 miles on it when I bought it. But it ran great and everything worked! The two Fords I had before this car were crap by comparison.

  • what kind of two fords did you have?

  • Anyone notice the sentra was missing a side mirror lol

  • yea i saw that lol

  • My granny had this car. No power steering.

  • i LOVED these and would love to buy one if i found it since i love any car from the 1980s

  • Damn straight. We had carburetors back then.

  • Whao, now i can see... in 20 more years we are so gonna laugh at the car commercials as of now LOL

  • ha ha that was my first car when I was 18 dang!!!!

  • Dang I still got mine!!!! same year and model.

  • if you a day don't want your 1985 Nissan Sentra more, can you sell it to me? i want a 1985 Nissan Sentra

  • one of nissans most technologically advanced cars-yet no passenger mirror. lol

  • hahahaha yes it dosent have a passanger mirror lol

  • i don't get why they didn't put one on if you look at 0:19 it just looks wrong, like a person missing an ear XD

  • wow that must have been right when they switched from Datsun to nissan..they just switched the words in the logo!

  • i miss the wood panels

  • if you want wood panels you need to take longer back than the 80's

  • yes i know i have a Volvo from the 80s

  • keep that 80's volvo for the future

  • Thats amazing!! I have never watched a car commercial from the 80s!

I was born in the wrong year!!! =( Wish I could have lived the 80s... I wished I could take the De Lorean and go back in time!!!!! =)

  • one of the best cars i have seen in my life

  • THAT CAR LOOKS AWESOME!

  • how much hp does it have stock? and nice car!

  • 80? These things turned to rust like all the jap stuff from back then.

  • Oh I see......sorry to hear that!

  • if i had the power to do it the 80's design will come back

  • Same Here...i Have a 1985 buick skylark....LOVE It...80s had some AWESOME Designs.... My dad just bought a new car but still says..if he didn't have that he would be driving my 85 buick since he likes to drive it just as much...80s were truly Great years.....Why can't they make cars today like these??? They just look so.....COOL!!

  • round design is really ridiculous... every car now days are equal and made of plastic.

  • yeah all new cars are made of soft plastig and if they crash they are gone

80s cars are so mush better

  • I bought my first car when I was 20 years old in 2000. It was a Sentra 1984 Gray... fantastic! Like the one in the video, It had only Driver mirror, no passenger mirror too! Three years after I had an accident, nothing serious. I decided to sell the old Sentra '84. One weeek after that, I bought a new car... a Nissan Sentra 1985!!! It with Driver mirror! This is my actual car, really I love it!!! Economic, powerfull, no problems with parts, no problem with motor! Excellent!

  • nice i might be getting a 1984 Nissan sentra wagon i love these do you also like the Nissan micira???

  • is this the first year of them calling themselves nissan

  • UGLY!

  • irolliamvolvo you are ugly!

  • hahaha. No passenger mirrior.. wonder if it was even an option.

  • "precise FRONT WHEEL DRIVE HANDLING"?!

    AHAHAHA, that's absolutely classic.

  • nissan is an american owned company. how can we pronounce a domestic car wrong?

  • Nissan is Japanese owned, and in a partnership with Renault in France. There is no American ownership. And yes, Nissan was pronounced in the video just the way it's pronounced in Japan. I live in Japan. I know Nissan employees.

  • oh. thanx

  • Nissan,Honda and Toyota are all Japanese.

  • My first Nissan was a 1983 Nissan/Datsun Sentra - white two door that I bought with over 100,000 miles on it. Manual steering. I LOVED that car. Sold me on Nissan. I've had a 93 Sentra, 95 Altima and a 2000 Altima since. Still got that 2000 Altima with over 127,000 miles on it and running like new. But sometimes I wish I still had that 83 Sentra!

  • That 2-door would be a rare wilderbeast?

  • We had a brown 2 doors 1985 model and we gave it to a person we know and the car last until last year (2007). If now-a-days car could last that long.....

  • The "SANE-TRA".
