Nothing special other than locking the ebrake and manually putting it in first gear. Although the 3.9 is no slouch the 5.3 in my car makes more immediate torque and therefore can spin the tires easier before traction is achieved causing the car to go forward.

You have alot to learn about burn outs. A real burnout is without power braking. Look and see how it will be without. NOT Its all about power under the hood. And YES you can power brake a car and make just as long of a burnout like this Impala did. If you have skills.

I wasn't being an asshole, I was being a smartass. As with pretty much all of GM's front drives the tranny of choice is the 4t-65e (HD in this case) 4 speed. Believe me, if this car had an option for a manual I would have checked the box to have three pedals.
All stock. The only mod currently on the car is the K&N cold air kit. I am currently trying to find someone who can tune it as I have acquired a 3" catless downpipe but need the codes for the rear 02 to be removed before I can install it.
