This was not a game. It was a piece of art. All the other adventure games like Monkey Island, Indiana Jones, Zak McKracken were great games, but Loom was different - simply a piece of art.

This is an absolutely beautiful game that is just a joy to play. Simple, fun, and a joy to look at and even listen to because it has voice acting in the CD version. ^^d

I laughed my ass off after listening to that pirate tell me about it, then finding it in my dad's attic. :P

@Ilissill : as I know these melodys are from Tchaikovskys Nutcracker. But true is that whole Loom aoundtrack is Tchaikovsky.

I played this game as a small kid and it totally took my imagination to the extreme. I had a CD version with the music on the CD - never said anything about any FM-Towns or anything and i listened to it until it got too scratched; haven't heard it in a while now, thought i'd look up youtube for a version because it got stuck in my head. LOOM FOREVER!
