i really need someone to answer this question. so i was talking to my mom about dmt and how i was interested in it and she said it can do horrible things to me and her boyfriend did it once and it scared him for two and a half years. she also said that the trip is in the drug, not your mood and enviornment. i'm pretty sure that's a load of bullshit, but is she really right? or am i right for knowing that her boyfriend wasn't spiritually ready for the trip? i'd appreciate an answer.
@Teutonic1250 he may not have been spiritualy ready, depends on the if they were just taking it out of whatever reason. Use drugs for purely meditational purposes, not for activity purposes. Search for the answers, knowledge is never ending and so on.
The guy interviewing Joe is Daniel Pinchbeck, one of the current main writers on psychedelics. The two books I've read by him are "Breaking Open the Head" and "2012", although he's written other books. Psychedelic experiences are very hard to describe, and he does a great job of it.

Joe Rogan is applying the same tactics in the modern day. Making himself known to the masses through reality TV leads to more people researching him. When they do, they will find this stuff, and adhere to what he is saying because they look up to him.

It is absolutely essential that you use psilocybin mushrooms or lsd before using DMT so that you will have that mental alteration under your belt and comfortable with altering your mind before using DMT. Just remember that nothing bad is happening and that the drug is just doing its thing.
