  • They murdered king tut's finder and stole his treasure then sold it to that museum.

  • Sorry, but that makes no sense. Who stole the treasure from what "finder" and what museum did they sell it to? In fact the Egyptian Antiquities Department was in a dispute for several years with the Carnarvon family over who was going to get the treasure. Finally a settlement was reached where the Egyptians got to keep all of the treasure and the Carnarvon family was reimbursed for all of their expenses. They in turn paid Howard Carter a share of this money.

  • The title of this video and all historical references should be changed to "Waterboy and Tutankhamun's Tomb."

  • Perhaps. There is a rumor to that effect. But in fact it is unknown who actually discovered the first step leading to the tomb. What is certain is that Carter was not on site at the time and had to be sent for.

  • Is he still in the tomb?

  • grave robbers!

  • Of course, but is that necessarily a bad thing?

  • Very few people seem to know who Howard Carter is these days.

  • what movie are the re-enactment scenes from?

  • On the last part he says he's rest in his tomb again but that's not true he lies in the museum of cairo

  • And now we know his descendants are the British and Europeans. Thank you DNA.

  • Carter not only had pure genius, but an obsession that began when he first came to Egypt at 17 and worked with Flinders Petrie doing water color drafts of the ruins at Amarna.

  • respect the king.. why did you disturb him.. didnt all of them died in a queer way.. still he is a king... respect him...

  • grave robber

  • i lernt about all of this at school

  • Actually, 1923

  • He opened the burial chamber today in 1922!

  • Does Western Scientific Inquiry have a right to disregard or override another culture's belief system? Is time a factor? Why or why not? Then give your opinion -- did Carter have the right to excavate Tut's tomb?

  • See My Uploads for more on black ancient Egypt, pictorial evidence and sources given liberally

You will see things like the the mummy of Thutmose the 1st with coarse wooly hair in a 1930s published book by Sir W M Flinders Petrie (renowned Egyptologist of the day) . He's now bald. Or the coal black (always in art) grandmother of renowned Queen Hatshepsut.

  • The "curse" is interesting too - apparently the whole thing was a fabrication of the press and never really existed. The other funny thing is it does not hold up statistically or factually. The number, type and ages at death of those who did die was within statistical norms for the time and area. Carter lived another 17 years and died at 65, Lady Evelyn lived to be 79, Dr Derry who did the autopsy lived a further 46 years. Superstition tends to make us see what we want not whats there :-)

  • Fascinating and amazing how much has been learned since. I saw that in the past couple of years they have been able to prove a genetic familial link between the corpse of Tutankhamen and that of Akenatan as well as between some female mummies identified at being Tuts mother and grandmother.

I find the story of Akenatan's reign fascinating and wonder whether his belief in Ra as the only or key god was the origins of monotheism. Must have been tough on Tut to take over after his fathers changes

  • i am reading about this!

  • 3:44am Saturday (CDT) - Time in M

  • this ''curse'' it is for real? O.o starting to creep out xD

Because my teacher entered the tomb and later he lost his job, his wife and house and everything. And one of my classmate's stepdad entered this tomb too 3 years ago and now he lost everything O.o

  • look up his name on yahoo sarech. you will find that he did find tutankhamun's

    tomb

  • i have been to his tomb and kiro mussem

  • ETWINPLACEAND SHOW yes?

    HOWCARDCARTERE-D

    ETUTANKHAMUNAE-SG

    HOWCARDCARTERE-D

    ETWINPLACEAND SHOW yes?

howard not a good record keeper-

    I am 323

  • we have to do a progect on howard carter. this helped a lot . thanks 4 uploading it

  • Haha, no, of corse not.

Those spells were put in there to scare off tomb raders (the ancients believed the spells would work)

In this case, i find it more than a coincidence a few archeologists died.

BUT that can be explained by another fact, other than the "Curse"

In Tuts tomb, there was a sort of fungis, eating at the paint. the Team, didnt let the tomb air out.... so perhaps the fungi caused some sort of heath hazzard.

Egyptologists today make it a practice to "Air out the tomb".

  • In fact, several tombs did have "curses" spelled out in them, such as "if you enter this tomb unclean you will be eaten by crocodiles", etc. However, there were no curses at all associated with Tut's tomb.

  • Thus putting my theory in play.

    :)

  • @SailingTheNile There was a famous curse in Tutankhamuns tomb. It said 'If you don't pass this hieroglyphic message on within the next 7 moons, the sun god will come out of you cupboard and you will die. Those silly archaeologists didn't pass it on did they!.

  • Biggest hoax of all time

  • @olebaj no hoax!

  • Are we all cursed for viewing this video now?

  • Tut is now in the museum in a glass box because he was starting to decompose.. or so I heard.

  • You are partially correct. His mummy was moved to a glass case, but the case is still in the tomb.

  • @dpchrist26 He's still resting in his tomb in peace. I just saw him.

  • u know ..they spent about 10 yrs yes 10 yrs to transform the tut's treasure from luxer to cairo

  • ghfjklhvfjekw cool but no oof ence about wat i say

  • it was a fantastic find and I would certainly love to go see the tomb but i cant help but think some things should remain undisturbed.

  • GrownCool, its true if it wasnt for the discovery we wouldnt have known about King Tut. But still generally, by that time Archaeologists could read hieroglyphics but the actual find didnt tell us anything new, it backed up evidence already found about Egyptian lifestyle. Dont get me wrong, the discovery was fantastic, but it wasnt great.

  • You are crazy, it was an unspoilt tomb! and there was strong evidence to say that Tutankhamun existed, (in fact Tutankhaten, his father being the heretic Akhenaten). In truth that inspired the search, the discovery of the relocated capital at Tel El Amarna. Carter was indeed looking for the tomb of Tut. all along. Genuinely if you believe this to be not 'fantastic', what do you believe to be so? (Meant with friendliness as with these text boxes you dont here tonality. : )

  • I am always happy to discuss these things, if there is a reason to believe the other person is serious. In your case I am not sure. Phrases like "Ignorant", "Arrogant", "sinful", "you don't pay attention", "I'm the only 1 who makes sense" do not tend to create the atmosphere for intelligent discussion.

If you want to try again let me know.

  • 1/ The discovery of King Tut's tomb was not the greatest one of all time. It didnt tell historians or archaeologists anything that they didnt already know.

2/ Howard Carter was not cursed and he actually died from Hodgkins disease, its a form of Lymphoma so at least one of you is right. Plus he was kind of a thief.

3/ The Eighteenth dynasty was never meant to be 'disappear' Akhenaten who was meant to be erased from history He was 'the enemy of egypt'.

4/ Physics has nowt to do with it!

  • Are you kidding me ShazOakami King Tut's Tomb discovery was one of the greatest ever we have learnt much about ancient egypt from the heiroglyphics found in his tomb and now we know about King Tut The Boy King. also Howard Carter was the one that set up the search if he wouldnt that boy wouldnt of found the steps so you cant say he didnt find it.

  • but from the history...he really found that tomb..

  • Er, no offense or anything but how does this have anything to do with "Physics." Wouldn't it be history or humanities studies..

  • It's a long, short "story".The 18th Dynasty, didn't leave any trace, why would they find Tutankhamun's Tomb?He was never a king, a special Boy, and if he was SO Important, why was his corpse all decomposed???Not like the other mummies, well preserved??Well, they didn't leave any trace, their Knowledge of Physics allowed them to go away, they didn't "leave" Tutankhamun's corpse.Sorry, I cannot tell you more. There are somethings Mankind will Never understand.

  • Excuse me, you're making no sense. ???

What about his mummy not being so well preserved? It was preserved wasn't it? I don't get you're point, are you saying he was never a king? Even though the tomb was meant for a king? And it mentioned he was a pharaoh like a thousand times. I don't get it, please elaborate.

  • what was the cause of death of carter?was it really cursed?did they preserved howard carter's body like mummy?

  • Howard Carter found the Tut's tomb on 4 November 1922 and opened it in the same year on 26 November. He died of lymphoma, a type of cancer, in Kensington, London, on March 2, 1939 at the age of 64 so it seems that he didnt died because of the curse. The truth is that the story about the curse was spread by one of the feemale journalists at the time of the opening of the tomb because Carter didnt want to give her exclusive rights to publish the whole story so it was her way to harm him.

  • i cant hear no sound

  • is it true about the curse? so scary.

  • no what about the pharaohs that were opened before tutankhamun they wernt cursed

  • yeah darkfairy its true do i heard anyway

  • cara fala direito kkkkk

  • HAH my teacher said that if she had discovered the tomb she would have rolled around and checked it out not burry it back up again HAH that make me go lol!!!!!

  • Loll, hey. Im was just doing my project on Howard Carter, and i came across here. Very interesting.

  • if carter had left the treasures in the tomb they would have been stolen you fool, Tutankhamun rests in his tomb, not in london. do some bloody research

  • no tutankhamun is not in london your right but his death mask is in ciaro

  • "and Tuttankkhamun still is lives happily in the valley of the kings" WELL NOT ANYMORE!N IN DISPLAY IN LONDON

  • Actualy, no. Several artifacts from his tomb (and a fair number from other tombs of the period) are in the Tutankhamun exhhibit. But his mummy is still, and is currently scheduled to remain, in his tomb.

  • You do not unstand that it is being said that he is where he belongs and that most of eveything they had in their tombs belong in the tomb not at some museum.

  • He did not die six months after he found the tomb.

    -

yes he did. it was because of all the barteria in there. Because it was soooooooo old.

  • WONDERFUL

  • un video genial

  • He did not die six months after he found the tomb.

  • You are correct. Lord Carnarvon died 5 months and one day after the tombs discovery.

  • How long did Carter live after the discovery?

  • Carter died in 1939, 17 years after the discovery of Tut's tomb.

  • Really great! Wonderful to see and hear the people who actually did this wonderful thing.
