@gameslayeral Our birds love showers. You should give her a shower at least once or twice a week, more if she really likes it. Try putting some wet lettuce and/or a shallow bowl of water for her to spash in during her shower. She'll love it. Let me know how she does, maybe take some vids.

@gameslayeral I have a single tiel that is 8 yrs old, and she'll let me know when she wants a shower. Most of the time she'll start dunking her head in her water dish and shake the water off her head to spread it to her body. When she does this I pull out the spray bottle. If she's in the mood for a real shower, she'll spread her wings half way and show under her wings. If she's not in the mood she'll just try to run away from the water. Try this trick and see how it goes.

My cockatiel loves listening to this video and hearing the cockatiels, we just got her about a week ago so she is relatively quiet still so I play this video to get her to open up and boy does she!!!! Try "spray millet" from the pet store. It's seed that's like candy to the birds. It might lure them back into their cage.

I'm sorry your cockatiel doesn't like being showered. All the cockatiels I've known love it. Are you sure the water is warm? Maybe just try one or two squirts at first until the bird gets used to it?

Cute video! I give my cockatiel a spray bottle bath too. Pet stores actually sell a mist just for cockatiels and it makes their feathers soft and shiny! My bird, weezer just loves it - I always think he wants his "pits" cleaned when he opens his wings like these guys do. Thanks!

if you give him another bird companion, you won't have him as your "friend". He/she will prefer another bird's company. If you want to tame your bird, get a book, and go into your small shower stall, place the panicky bird on the floor, and take a long time to get him to "step up" always giving a voice command and extend your finger. It takes awhile but the shower stall is the safest place to train your bird. Then reward with a favorite food. He will be gentle soon. Be patient!

i have six birds myself...try filling the squirt bottle with warm water (he may just not like the cold) and give him his favorite treat after each time..he will learn to associate the shower with good things and he'll start to like it :)

How do you dry them so they dont freeze? because mine is like 6 months old.

Blow-dry using a hair-dryer on a low heat and hold it approx. 30cm away from the bird so that you don't burn them! They love it! Use a waving motion so that they don't overheat.
