  • I hope they bring it back to Melbourne soon! I'd love to see it again!!!!

  • no matter how many times i hear this it still moves me... goose pimple effect

  • it's just simply fabulos

  • Evertime I watch this it reminds me to some very special moments in my life !

  • Seeing this only makes me want to see it more :( lion king is an amazing film!

  • this production enriches our culture. the life story of the kardashians not so much.

  • NO DISRESPECT to the wonderful late Jason Raize, but he was too light to play Simba. The Lion King was based in Africa, and Africans have beautiful dark skin.

  • @JayWIamBoss There was nothing "light" about the SOUL that Jason Raize brought to this role; it's never been matched by any other performer, regardless of their race or skin color. WIthout him, there would be no standard by which to measure how Simba should be performed.

  • @JayWIamBoss he still did a good job i miss him very much

  • The guy looks like Barrak Obama

  • @AryanAcepilot36 It is him!

  • love the lion king movies <3

  • To sad Jason Raize is not singing:(

  • lol dashaun looks like obama xD

  • @DJDhananjayK Lol I thought I was the only one who noticed that XD

  • i went to there show in london with my wife by god it was soo awsome i realy recomand anyone who have the chance to see it SEE IT !!!

  • Him and Jason Raize are both phenomenal. I hope he rests in peace. I'm glad thyey found someone to carry on the role of Simba.

  • I saw the second movie before I got to see the play,

I remember being in school as the song began playing, getting chills and goosebumps all over, I began tearing up, turned around and everyone in my classroom had tears in their eyes.

    This song is powerful :X

  • Just got back from seeing the touring version at Shea's Buffalo, this scene was unbelievable my favorite part of the show.

  • @trooper00125 i just got back from that tonight and i LOVED this part!

  • @trooper00125 I was there tonight! O:

  • where's the big mufasa mask?

  • this is probably one of the last talk shows Jason Raize was on before he commited suicide

  • @howardkevinm thats not jason raize that is dashaun young!!! this was only four or five years ago

  • @JM10112 ya i seen that after i posted the comment. he cant replace jason though

  • @howardkevinm no jason raize was phenominal!

  • love he look on simbas face when she says

    "WAIT!!!"

Oh God pls dont hurt me!

  • First off FUCK The View But, I do love the Lion King

  • Damb this is strong!

  • @Keliiholokai89 If you're going to suck at spelling, then please don't misspell *Damn*....

  • @Keliiholokai89 fail.

  • Damb

  • I wish I could see it, but I am a poor little college girl! *cry*

  • @TXRider i feel your pain :...(

  • It´s AMAZING, I saw this show in broadway, the best part of the show is when Simba's father appears behind the stage, I come back to be child again.

  • French version is better ! :p

  • i get chills listening to this

  • Saw this 2 weeks ago in vegas. Absolutely AMAZING. Moved me to tears. And now two weeks later and all i think about is how I want to see it AGAIIN!!!

  • @xffokcufxXx who played rafiki?

  • I LOVE HER VOICE, I saw her in broadway, HER VOICE BLEW ME AWAY, I love that even though its trained, its not too trained, it sounds authentic. ANd that makes what she sings more real. I was in tears when I saw this in broadway

  • I saw this in London and it was so good that I went back the following month to see it again for it's 10th anniversary playing there. Simply amazing. I am going to see it again next year in the US.

  • I saw The Lion King musical at Singapore a week ago and it was AMAZING! FUCKING AMAZING!

  • weeks ago I was Mufassa

  • I love, the actors are awsome, and some are even cute, lol. I can't stop watching this. Just amazing.

  • that is me im rafiki

  • Saw this last night, it was ASTOUNDING. Loved this scene, it was certainly a tear-jerker. Though I wish that this performance had the huge head pieces of Mufasa that all come together and began speaking (just because it was so cool :)).

  • um..does anyone else think he looks a lot like President Obama...?

  • Question? Has the character Rafiki ever been played by a man????

  • @tjonesmusicman Nope, it's always been in a woman in the stage production. Julie Taymor, the director for the original Broadway show, made Rafiki a female because she felt there weren't any strong lead female roles in the film, so she wanted to add one in for the Broadway show.

  • @scentofarrogance I actually like the fact that Rafiki is a woman. It's nice to see a "strong lead female role."

  • the minute Simba starts singing, tears just fall from my eyes

  • It is funny what he does with his head.

  • thumbs up if the lion looks like obama

  • Rafikis costume makes her look bigger than the lions lol

  • This song makes me cry every time i hear it, there is just so much truth and love in the lyrics.

  • I watched the live musical two days ago. It was amazing! And this is by far my favourite part of the show. The setting was amazing. Really beautiful.

  • I love the part where Rafiki basically screams "Wait!" and the voices echo her.

  • 2,5 best hours of my life! ...

I wanna see it again already!

  • There will never be another Jason Raize.

  • saw it when it came to australia. LOVED IT!! Come back!!!

  • such a beautiful song

  • i've seen it in london...

and i would give anything to see it again...

i got tears in my eyes when i saw this part...

  • Dayum I wish I could sing like that! Seems like I literally live and breathe the lion king these days, I was making some video with clips of it (a weird one) but I literally cannot get enough of it, broadway, movie, beautiful character design THE MUSIC!!! the gorgeous colours from the film and I NEVER tire of it :) it's truly amazing

  • I wanna cry everytime I listen to this. It is one of the very few songs i can listen to a billion times and never get tired of it.

  • I lost it when Dashaun started singing....only the Lion King can bring me to tears!

  • I saw this in mandalay bay :) spectacular!! I also saw it about 10 years ago at the pantages theater!

  • such a powerful song i love it

about rafiki telling simba his dad is living in him and to have faith in that

  • saw the musical in london...had goosebumps during that song

  • I went with my year 6 class, to see this :')

  • @nanancay Best.Teacher.Ever.

  • @nanancay pahah, every year 6 class ever has seen this ;D

The big sun at the beginning was AMAZING

i swear I almost died LMFAO

    IT WAS BEAUTIFULLLL <3

  • i love this song.... so powerful and have faith how rafiki said to simba that to always have faith no matter what is going on in your life...

  • i've seen this musical twice now and i am still amazed every time i see a clip. it's coming to my home town and i can't wait to see it!!

  • this is very good, but the rafiki in london is miles better, having listened to both of them, the rafiki in London sings it with more passion, energy and it is better in every way. If you don't belive me watch the one live on gmtv

  • @tigersdevilsrule completely agree with you. the rafiki in London is the best rafiki ever

  • I just saw this last night in New York on Broadway and it was AMAZING.... This song ad a few others made me almost cry the songs touch your heart in away.

  • 11 people don't have faith.

  • When I saw this live in Chicago it maid me cry & when I looked around I was the only one crying lol

  • this song no matter what version it stills give me chills love it but the song is right.

    He lives in you....

  • I PROMISE that if i ever go to disney world or animal kingdom im going to watch this

  • Ingonyama nengw' enamabala Night and the spirit of life calling mamela And a voice just the fear of a child answers mamela Ubu khosi bo khokho [This is the throne of our ancestors] We ndodana ye sizwe sonke [Oh, son of the nation)] Ingonyama nengw' enamabala Night and the spirit of life calling mamela And a voice just the fear of a child answers mamela Ubu khosi bo khokho We ndodana ye sizwe sonke Wait, there's no mountain too great Hear these words and have faith Have faith
  • Wow! That was amazing!!!

  • I just saw this on Broadway, so amazing!!!!

  • Tshidi is simply stunning . amazing job

  • LOVE his growly singing at 3:17!!!

  • The spirit of Africa <3

  • @rafikisthebest Amen :D

  • The most beautiful Musical in the world!

    Africa! <3

  • i am soo jealous that black people always have such amazing teeth

  • @NataZolotaya We pay a lot of money for those teeth...ha ha

  • I prefer the cartoon. I just can't imagine Simba prancing. But it is hard to recreate such a moment from a beautiful play on a daytime talk show. They did a great job.

  • I had a dream about this last night and i woke up in tears after she said" Mamela"

  • I've seen this musical as well and it is simply amazing. The soundtrack recording does not even compare to the awesomeness of seeing it in real life and I love the stage versions of the songs and how they literally come to life. Also, the costume and interactive set designs are AMAZING and are deserving of all the praise and awards.

Go see it if you haven't already. You won't be disappointed!

  • I absolutely adored the play when I saw it on Broadway, it was amazing! This song gave me chills every time!

  • I just saw The Lion King in New York on 9/9. I had incredible second row seats and this song was my favorite part of the show. The way the Mufasa reflection was portrayed was incredible and Tshidi Manye is flawless.

  • She sings this song so beautiful love this version! better then diane ross and tina turner.

  • You know, the lady that plays Rafiki is actually really pretty. The makeup makes that difficult to see, but she's lovely! And such a raw, strong voice!

  • Wow. Never before in my life have I actually got chills from listening to a video on youtube. I have to see this live.

  • @choobz92 I Know Right? I Got Chills As Well

  • no matter how many times you watch this show on youtube, it can never compare to watching these actors live! Its amazing, and I highly recommend it!

  • @Outcastjts123 I saw it 10 years ago! Most incredible thing I've ever seen!

  • @Sucker4Nostalgia

I agree, very incredible! Im 16 and I just saw about 2 weeks ago, and this is just a story that everyone can relate to and enjoy, no matter what the age:)

P.S- Dashaun Young is such a great actor for this part.

  • @Outcastjts123 it's so true. I saw it YEARS ago when it toured, I saw it in Toronto, and I was just taken back, even at such a young age, by the enormity and perfection of this show. I want to see it again so bad

  • @Outcastjts123 just saw the show last night. and holy crap. it was epic.

  • @Outcastjts123 True but it still give me chills. I wanna see it again!!!

  • @Outcastjts123 YES YES I AGREE!! It sends shivers down your spine!! it's fantastic!!!

  • best vs!

  • when i saw mufasa in the reflection i started crying... MUFASA HAS A PLACE IN MY HEART! HE LIVES IN ME :')

  • This song moves my heart....

  • so beautiful

  • Amazing, truely, but he's no Jason =/

  • @atvrider7 I agree. Jason's rendition if far better than anyone that potrayed Simba. may he rest in peace.

  • i forgot to say this is the beautiful Broadway show ever!

It deserves much more but all i can give is thanks for making it!

  • How old is this?

I'm going to see this in September when it comes to my home town.., Chicago

I'v NEVER saw it before and I love the lion king! Does that make since??? =D

  • you have to appreciate anyone who can even come close to pulling off the role of rafiki... it's crazy intense, props to her.

  • Beautiful song! and Beautiful Show!

  • Wow Dashaun is also nice --- this was after Jason Raize passed away - Dashaun is soo great too wowwwwwwwwww.....Tshidi has a very wonderful and strong Voice - it makes my heart beat fast and makes me just feel so overwhelmed .... this song draws my emotions out and I cry whaaa ^_^

  • @regiern Still, I think Jason was the best Simba ever.. Such a shame he took his own life.

  • @brivanas I agree :(

  • I saw them at The Grove yesterday. Well, only Tshidi Manye (Rafiki), Dashaun Young (Simba), and Chauntee Schuler (Nala). They weren't in costume. They sang Circle of Life, Shadowland, Endless Night, and Can You Feel the Love Tonight? I wanted my nieces to see them

I've seen the Broadway show back in 2002 and bought the soundtrack so for years, I got used to the original cast. But they all sang very beautifully. I wish I could afford to see the actual show in Las Vegas so I could show my nieces.

  • the rafiki in london sounds way better

  • @gazader1981 I doubt that =)

  • I like Dashaun, he's great!

  • I´ve seen it in London.... At this song i cried :´(

  • I saw this on Broadway a week or so ago, and it's the best thing I've seriously ever seen, the whole time I had chills, and Tshidi Manye is just purely amazing, and so talented, along with Dashaun Young and the rest of the cast. It's truely an amazing experience!

  • @forevermydream same it was oustanding

  • ouch! it burns.... could his teeth get any brighter? lol

  • Tshidi has such a beautiful strong voice.

    Just touches your heart.

  • No Jason, that's for sure...but I'm sure he realizes that and just does the what he can himself. Still awesome..

  • This video (or any recording, really) does no justice to hearing it live. Seriously. I saw it in the Minskoff theater last week, and was simply blown away Manye's voice. Hearing it live was one of the most amazing experiences ever. I'd see it every day if it weren't 95 dollars a ticket. -_-

  • love this show!

  • The rafiki in London is better than the one in Broadway

  • @YangYue86 I agree

  • @YangYue86 no

  • i personally think jason raize will always be the best simba

  • That simba has a good voice... but I can't say I like his acting

  • he is still playing simba i saw him in april 2010. he is good and he is sexy

  • I am from Germany and I was one year in new york... as au-pair and my brithday present was the best! - lion king on broadway with 'my' family.

I think this evening was one of the best times in my life!

    I ♥ this musical :)

  • i remember seeing them on broadway when i was a lil girl it was truly amazing!

  • the london one is nicer..

  • It was amazing to see this on Broadway. I got to meet Dashaun Young and the rest of the cast after the show with my school for a Q and A. He was really cool. It was an unforgettable experience.

  • im almost crying, Jason Raize... Rest in Peace man... =(

  • i was 3 times at the german version in hamburg and it was ........GREAT!!!!;)

  • Oh my gosh, I love The Lion King on Broadway. So breathtaking.

  • this reminds me of AFRICA and its emotional if undetstand the meaning

  • I MISS JASON GOD LOVE HIM !!!!

  • this is the type a show that just makes you cry with joy! Like Memory from CATS this justs makes you feel blessed

  • Tishidi Mayne is amazing!!

  • i've seen it on Broadway for 2 times.. it's fantastic!

  • @TheRedOnE9812 For 2 times? YOUR GRAMMAR SUCKS! WHY DO YOU EVNE TRY, LIKE.. THAT IS SOO FAR FROM THE CORRECT GRAMMAR, YOU MIGHT ASWELL JUST SHUTUP!

  • @TheRedOnE9812 I went and saw it in UK, Jesus Christ it's expensive! I actually prefer the plays at my local civic theatre; more personable actors, a 20th the price for a ticket, free food, and without the ULTRA LOUD BLACK LADY SCREAMING.

  • @TheRedOnE9812 lucky one! It seems fantastic!

  • Every time I feel a little down I will watch this and just smile at the sheer amazingness that is Dashaun Young's voice box and dance skills.

  • I love it when she turns and says 'have faith', almost like she's telling him off ^_^

  • AMAZING SHOW, I LOVE Tshidi Manye! I saw the play this afternoon! I want to see it again! I wonder if they have this song recorded with her?

  • I miss Jason

  • @nightmare3993 so do I

  • I thought Mufasa was supposed to show up here?

  • @Alkanile he is but they don't want to give the shows greatest technical acheivement away

  • Wow, Simba has a gorgeous voice. It's very strong.

  • I went to see this in June and personally I thought this guy was great he ahd sucha a powerful voice sure he may not sound the same as jason Raize but ti wouldnt be as good if he tried to copy the way jason played simba

    Great musical

  • i agree that jason raize was irreplaceable but this guys great aswell

  • this song is beautiful, but the version of london's theatre is far better.....i just can't find it here on utube....that's what I think about it

  • That was great!!! OMG luv the Lion King!

  • WOW!!!!! Im always blown away by how beautiful Tshidi´s voice is.. Stunning!! Bravo. But def. Jason Raize as Simba is irreplaceable... R.I.P Jason. God Bless you . I got to meet him in person. Such a beautiful and amazing talent.

  • yeah, I wish he didn't kill himself!

  • @TheaterServant Why did he do that for? He was a broadway star.

  • @ShadowDJ94 Well unfortunately that's a question that I just can't answer. I mean why people is still a very big mystery

  • agreed.... nobody
