  • If I can remember, I think they were 100gr. Sierras....I've since switched to a .204 Ruger with much success out to those ranges and more...Sandy

  • what grain were you using

  • it looked like he got some fur on that one.

  • @datzitteezy no datz, I hit the dirt behind him....wished I did get some fur...I killled that chuck sometime later with my .204 Ruger but never got it on tape....

  • @datzitteezy nah....it was dirt behind him...I got him later with my .204

  • Lol Death to all whistle Pigs via 243.

  • lolol

  • nice

  • The most appropriate thing to do is to ask the land owner FIRST and get permission and be sure to thank them afterwards. A lesson learned. Do you have any experience with the Remington 700 Varmint rifle?

  • Hi Blitz, I always get permission first and this land owner drove right by me and waved to me. But the land owner is not the actual farmer who leases the land. The farmer who leases the land can actually give me permission to hunt but I never could find him when I was there. Oh well. It was a perfect groundhog field.

  • man i love doing this in the summer when im not bailing hay. try gettin shots at some at about 550 yds and then when you shoot at them at 325 it seems like nothing.

  • You're lucky to get shots that far out. I would have to be shooting over houses to get that kind of shot or go prairie dog hunting. I've gotten one at 600 yard out before but that was after shooting at him 3 times and holding over around 3 feet.

  • So close! Was that a ground hog or praire dog? It's strange that's there's no anti hunting comments. Cool video.

  • It was a groundhog. I got him a little later in the year when I switched to my .204 Ruger but didn't get him on film. He was even further out then at 385 yards. The land owner ran me off the property even though the farmer wanted me to get them all. That was as anti-hunting as it gets. Shame, it was a perfect groundhog field. I have quite a few more videos. Check them out, thanks, Sandy

  • I've given many haircuts myself .;) I have a 204 now and its dialed in pretty sweet. zeroed @ 200 yrd , 4" low at 300. with a 32 grain Hornandy. good fun

  • Hi Keembro, the .204 caliber is now my favorite one too. I hold right on for just about every shot now. I use the 40 grain hornady in mine. Did not try the 32 yet.

  • What grain bullet were you using? I have a 243 Remington 700 CDL. Very nice gun. I pop groundhogs with the smaller (55 grain) bullets, and take a few deer a year with the larger ones (100 grain). Very versatile cartridge.

  • I believe I use 100gr. Nosler Spire points in that gun. It's the best load I've found so far for long range and wind bucking. I've shot better and alot farther with my .204 Ruger calibers that I use most of the time now. They're so fast that the wind doesn't bother them. Good hunting! Sandy

  • what had u it zeroed at???

  • Hi Dank, I usually use about a hundred grainer in this gun. Because of the wind and accuracy, this is the best bullet for this gun. They are Sierras too. My favorite chuck calibers are .204's now.

  • Where are all the anti-gun / hunting comments? No shooting video is complete without them. Anyone?

  • You're right Pete, I feel slighted.

  • they can't really bitch too much when you miss. :)

  • how much were you holding

  • Hi SK, I put it about 6 inches over. I figure since I was shooting up hill, that was probably why I missed. Later that month, I killed one with my Ruger .204 about 75 yards further up the hill from that one. I held right on top of his head. I didn't get it on camera because it was so far away that I couldn't see it on the video.

  • cool

  • sux

  • who cares nice shot anyway
